I'm kind of curious about the terrorists who blew up the church Vamp's family was attending when he was a child.
Every other "terrorist group" depicted in the Metal Gear series has a specific ethos, a specific goal they're trying to accomplish -- mostly directly relevant to Big Boss and/or the Outer Heaven philosophy, but even Metal Gear Rising has Armstrong's Operation Tecumseh thing. But like the plots of the games kind of don't treat "terrorism in general" like that? Which is typical for pop culture. Any "terrorism" that Solid Snake doesn't personally fight against is just something that sort of happens and is caused by Bad People For No Reason. In Vamp's case, it's just, "he lost his family to a terrorist bomb that went off in a church they were attending" and that's it -- nothing on who did it, what they were trying to accomplish by blowing up churches, nothing. By the way, he's bisexual, yeah the first video game character to utter the word "bisexual" was Solid Snake disguised as a Navy SEAL, that's more important than what the unspecified Bad Guys were doing.

“Being an Obscurial is something that could be romanticized. One could talk about making friends with the monster inside of you, could talk about how it’s an open line of communication to the levels of one’s subconscious that most others, the normal ones, the healthy ones, never reach. It could be shown how their magic makes them able to survive things witches and wizards don’t, heal from things beyond even magic’s capabilities. As if it doesn’t come with a timer, with a chronic, terminal injury to cancel that out. “Obscurial magic is strong. Two Dark Lords in a row have turned them us into weapons; weapons of mass destruction. Used them us to kill hundreds, thousands, and not even be able to make that choice. “Sometimes we romanticize it. Sometimes it’s all we can do to keep living. “My name is Harry Potter, and I’m an obscurial.”
Companion fic to "The Hands of Fate"; William Potter has a brother - one who led a very different life. Harry Potter and Leo Black are Obscurials; abandoned by the Wizarding World and abused by the muggle one, they've run the mill. These are their stories.
