christmas was the time of the year when everything was busy and kind of slow at once. every corner of the house was decorated and ur found herself smiling as she sipped her tea, watching how the children unwrapped the presents. for cana, she had gotten a new backpack, sunglasses and, most importantly, a scarf so big that it might as well be called a blanket. an impossibly soft cashmere blanket.
CANA grinned - christmas wasn’t her favorite time of year ( no, her favorite moments of the year was always, always, going to be the beginning of spring, when ur’s outdoor garden started blooming & her dad started burning himself on the barbecue && silver wore the worst shorts and - ) but it was definitely up there.
SO as she tore into her gift, caring little about the mess, she beamed up at Ur. the sunglasses were nice ( & she’d been needing a new back pack, having ruined her old one with nail polish. she wasn’t sure how ur had found out - but was unsurprised ) but running her hands along the scarf, she was impossibly pleased. honestly, while most of her family were cold blooded enough they could probably pass for reptiles, cana was not a fan of the winters. snow was pretty && all - but Cana would sacrifice a limb if it meant she never had to experience cold, soggy socks again. But a huge, soft, scarf would certainly make the season more tolerable. “Thanks, Ur. I love it!”
