This week we are basically doing construction surveying stuff in a big field of grass a long walk away from our uni's buildings.
Last two days there was like 30°C in the sun. Today? A huge storm that caught us right in the middle of that field. NOT FUN. We and our equipment were soaked through when we got to the uni. Well, save for the Topcon OS-103 we put in its box as soon as it started raining.
So, okay, I went home, changed clothes, came back. It had stopped raining, we went into the field. In the middle of our work - yeah, you guessed it, ANOTHER downpour. This time poor OS did get a little wet because we couldn't have another break - it was almost evening - and we continued until we finished that part of the work.
I wish people sheduling these things thought about including an additional day in case of extremely bad weather. OS is expensive equipment, and if we break it in any way, WE pay for the service. So, if the water got somewhere it shouldn't... Yeah. This is so fucked up.
