The ebony dragoness hissed through sharp, clenched teeth, emerald eyes fixated on her side. She’d managed to dodge the fiery greeting from the unknown dragon, but the grazing heat still stung. Particularly with where she’d almost been struck.
“You almost got my wing,” she snapped, as the large, magenta appendage stretched out for inspection. No visible damage, good. Cynder huffed and raised her head to tell her opponent off, only to falter into startled silence.
Purple scales, red and yellow wings, bright yellow ridges, and a golden underbelly. No way, she had to be mistaken. He was smaller, as if he were younger than her. Yet, the resemblance was uncanny. That didn’t make sense. She stared quizzically at him. “...Who are you?”
