Oh boy, he was probably scared wasn’t he? At least, thats what she thought by his hand gestures. Then again, she couldn’t really blame him. After all, someone that he didn’t know just caught him from falling from a tree.

“Its okay hun, I’m not going to hurt you. Here, let me put you down.” As the woman was gently putting him down on the ground, she noticed that he didn’t have any limbs. “I have...so many questions...” The ginger wasn’t afraid or anything, just curious. She had never seen anything like him before. So the fact that there was a living creature without limbs astounded her.

“Can you...talk? Or maybe...your just shy?” Ellie put her had on her chin, trying to figure out how to communicate with him. Could it be that his only way of communication was through sign language? It would explain why he didn’t utter any words when he landed into her arms.

It doesn’t seem like he’s quite caught on- or, well, perhaps not entirely- but the apprehension is definitely there. It really doesn’t seem like he’s prepared to hand over those Lums, and so his response is just an incomprehensible & dismissive mumble…

It’s not really an outward ’no’, but the jig is up.

Sighing through his nose, he briefly lost the spark in his eye. Even without words, Rayman was quite easy to read. Ales drummed his fingers against the brim of the top hat, then lifted it and flipped it over his head with some flourish. It landed atop his head with a loud “pomf.”

“Not willing to give up those Lums?” he continued, maintaining that “salesman pitch” voice, “I understand! After all, that gold color of theirs does show how much they're worth.” he shrugged casually, “They ARE very valuable–but what if I told you that giving me Lums would help us both out?”

He grinned in a friendly fashion, clapping his hands together, “Here's the deal, Rayman: give me any Lums you can find, and return I’ll tell you where some Electoons are hidden. The ones I found were out of my reach, but as a hero you can certainly reach them easily!” he snapped his fingers, “Give me even more, and I'll free the Electoons that I come across in my travels–the ones in my reach, of course!”

He slyly folded his hands behind his back, rolling from his heels to his toes, “It’ll really help the Glade, you know!”

Moderna vaccine

I was fortunate enough to receive both doses of the Moderna vaccine this past month. I’m grateful to my county that promptly rolled out the vaccines and opened up diverse groups to speed up the inoculation. 

The first dose was a breeze. Just some mild aches and pains but it all cleared out in a day.  The second one however is slightly more challenging symptoms-wise but that means it’s working and that my body will have immunity against SARS-CoV-2 virus. 

I’m grateful to all the scientists who relentlessly worked to create this mRNA vaccine. For the distributors. For all the healthcare workers who have held the line against the virus and prevented my entire community from being engulfed by the virus.  There are so many things and people I’m grateful for.  I also have immense survivor’s guilt. I’ll write more about it. I don’t know how to resolve this feeling.
