Hey, folks! Not sure how many of you are following me from my more active days on Figment, but I wanted to let you know something in light of their 2nd annual March Match-Up: if you want the prizes, don’t bother entering.
They offer Figment merchandise to the 16 people whose stories reach round two, and the way I understand it, those who make it to further rounds will receive further merchandise. Last year, under the username Valkerie Thomas, I was one of the two finalists, and the prize conditions were the same. Only the 16 winners were eligible for prizes.
It has been over a year, and I have not received my prizes for reaching the finals.
I have contacted Figment via email on multiple occasions, filled out their information form so that they could mail them to me, and yet prizes have never turned up at my doorstep. In previous contests, my prizes showed up in a timely manner, but ever since the Random House merge, Figment has become exceedingly difficult to work with, and seems quite unconcerned with the promises they have made to the winners of their contests, even after they’ve been reminded of said promises. They will not deliver, and it’s not worth your time to put all that hard work in when they cannot keep their promises to their userbase. Until they can shape up, I don’t recommend offering them your trust, your effort, or your time.
If @figmentdotcom has anything at all to add, I’d really love to hear it.
