Can I be completely honest with you?

CollectA's 2010 Hanoverian Stallion is the single most beautiful realistic horse in my collection

His face, his conformation, his neck wrinkles, his pose, his hair, his fucking everything. I never knew I could love a plain grey horse this much.

But also. 2017 Tinker Stallion has a croissant for a forelock

It's strange, I bought all three of mine from the same store at the same time, yet they're made of different materials. The Hanoverian and Irish cob are both a dense solid plastic, while the Knabstrupper is almost rubbery.

She's also a lot less heavy than the stallions

The quality varies a bit but overall? Absolute top of the line for playline horses. Well worth your money.

I've been thinking of doing something with my figure collection, other than throwing away obscene amounts of money and shipping figure photography.  Maybe I should do some figure review videos?  I've already unboxed a lot of them already, so I can't do on-camera unboxing videos.  Though I do always take still photos of my figures as I unbox them. I could use that in conjunction with video for some figure reviews.  Though I also don't have an HD camera, besides maybe my smartphone.  And I don't have any audio equipment, plus I don't like to talk anyway, so they'd have to be voiceover-less vids.  Would all that even work?  I don't know.  Just throwing around ideas.  I’ve also been thinking of doing it more like an inventory series of videos instead.  Something more for myself, so it’ll feel like less pressure.  Maybe I could even end each vid with montages of figure photos I’ve done with the specific figures.  That could be fun.

Wow. What an ugly figure.

So this ugly pseudo-metallic Super Saiyan Goku figure has been sitting on my shelf for a long time. A year, at least. And it wasn’t until recently I found out the origins of this mysterious figure. Let’s get into it.

Let’s start with the story of how I got the figure.

You see, it was around July of last year when I got a call from one of my dad’s friends whose super into Dragon Ball like me. He said that he has four Dragon Ball Z figures that are all pretty old and asked if I wanted them. Now, all it took was the word “old” to make me interested. So he dropped them off and I got my first look at them. And wow, are they ugly. He gave me this pseudo-metallic Goku, along with a pseudo-metallic Vegeta, pseudo-metallic Piccolo, and a PVC Super Saiyan Adult Gohan (which is very interesting in my opinion but I’ll get to that some other time).

There’s obvious pieces missing. For instance, the Z on the stand is meant to light up when you press the S.S. Goku button, that doesn’t work. I also heard that these figures came with cards which are no where to be found. If anyone has one of this with a working stand and a card, I’d love to see it. This Goku is the most complete figure in the pseudo-metallic set I have. My Piccolo is missing the back part of his stand and the card, although his light works. Vegeta is just missing his stand entirely. Let’s talk about the stand first.

Now, let’s keep in mind that this stand is old and used, which is why I won't criticize the fact that the light doesn’t work. It’s supposed to glow red, from what I’ve seen on the Piccolo stand. What I will criticize, however, is the fact that you can't fully see the stars on the card stand. There’s seven stars, to signify the seventh dragon ball. But you can hardly see them! Bad design choice. The stand has pegs to keep the figure in place, obviously, and a name plate. The name plate is actually a button, by the way; but as mentioned before, it doesn’t work. I won’t show the back, it’s nothing special. Just copyright stuff. Overall, a nice stand, even without the card. Now what about the figure?

Well, here’s where things get ugly.

The metallic paint may look worn from age, but this isn’t even that bad compared to the unopened ones I’ve seen. It’s just bad paint. I don’t know if you can see, but he also has a line going through his face. The way that the muscles are defined looks just... unnatural. His arms are also pretty flat. His boots also look like they’re made of felt and are part of his pants. I know that’s kinda how they look in the show, but that doesn’t make it any less weird. His hair’s also really short for no reason. He’s painted very poorly as well. He also turns at his belt.

But like...why though? We’ll get into it later, but this figure was made *specifically* with kids in mind. Wouldn’t you want it to be more movable? Like an *action* figure? Also, as you can see, there’s a line going through his right eye. Looks like he has a scar, actually. His irises are also a bit too square for my liking. You can also see through him when put to sunlight, and I hate that. I personally think figures should be as solid as possible.

Now where did this ugly figure come from? Burger King. That’s right, a figure for an action anime came from Burger King of all places. Which explains why it’s so cheap. Burger King figures don’t tend to be the greatest. It’s labeled as “2000 Burger King Dragonball Z Figure with Base - #4 Super Saiyan Goku” on amazon. Again, if anyone has the card, I’d love to see it. Anyways, until the next figure!

TL;DR: Burger King Figure #4 S.S. Goku. Nice stand, terrible figure.
