✨Congrats on completing 2023’s Figuwhump Challenge! ✨
Figuwhump Day 31
[ID: A pencil drawing. A skeleton wearing robes and slippers, with lights in her eye sockets, reclines on a bed. She holds a closed book in her left hand. End ID.]
Done! I didn't do a drawing every day, but I did 31 drawings over the course of 31 days, so - close enough! Quite pleased; I haven't managed to complete any month-long events before. Also quite surprised it was with drawing rather than writing, since the latter is much more my thing.
Anyway. Why is Maella flopped despairingly on her bed? Maybe she's running low on necromantic energy again. Maybe she didn't sleep well. Maybe the book she's reading ended really badly. I'll go with that last one; emotional whump is nice. :')

Figuwhump Day 27
[ID: A pencil drawing. A skeleton wearing robes and a circlet, with lights in her eye sockets, collapses backwards as if falling over. Two humanoid creatures made of wisps of shadow grasp her hands and an arm to keep her on her feet. End ID.]
These are shadow-creatures (wraiths or something, probably) instead of people for two reasons: Maella almost never spends time around living humans, and this way I didn't have to draw any faces on them. :') This isn't for a particular scenario, but Maella is very old and runs out of (necromantic) energy sometimes.

Figuwhump Day 22
[ID: A pencil drawing. A dark-haired woman is tied to a dead tree by her wrists, arms outstretched. She wears an upper-face mask decorated with leaves, a dramatic dress and jewellery, and sandals with crossing laces. Her head hangs down and her eyes are closed; abrasions are visible on her wrists near the rope bindings. End ID.]
Not sure I'll manage another piece today, but if not, I'll just be a day behind; that's fine. So - this one needs an explanation. While it's not for a particular scenario, Ide may well have done something like this before as part of a performance. Is it whump? I don't know. It's completely voluntary on her part, but she may be taking the whole 'art is pain' thing too literally.

Figuwhump Day 21
[ID: A pencil drawing. A woman with braided hair and freckles looks down at a man she's carrying. He has a goatee and a scar across his nose, and appears to be unconscious. Both of them wear winter clothing, though one of the man's hands is bare; an empty glove is tucked against his side. Their breath is visible as fog. End ID.]
Excited! Another one that (sort of) happens in my story. Technically Catha used a firefighter's carry to bring Mures back to their inn room (in Pt. 26), but maybe she switched it up halfway or something. Carrying someone a long way isn't easy even if you're very fit and they weigh less than you do.

Figuwhump Day 19
[ID: A pencil drawing. A dark-haired woman sits slumped back against a stone wall. Her eyes are closed; her hair falls over her face. One hand rests in her lap, holding a horsehair bow; the other rests on a large stringed instrument with a box-shaped body which lies on the floor. End ID.]
Alright, another past-due one done. It's Ide again, dozing in a hallway; hopefully she was not on her way to a performance. I realise all the pictures of her so far have focussed on illness or exhaustion - while she is often tired or unwell, that isn't actually the core of the whump she experiences in the (unwritten) story! But I suppose it's harder to depict emotional whump visually. :)

Figuwhump Day 18 (substituting bonus image 7)
[ID: A pencil drawing. A man with short dark hair and multiple earrings kneels over a person in leather and quilted-cloth armour who is on their back on the ground. He's stabbing down at them with a dagger; they're holding the blade away from them with both arms and have brought up a leg to push him back. End ID.
Well, missed several days of this due to work being hell, but I'm now back at it (albeit in slightly compromised health). While I could just start from day 22, I don't really feel like skipping, so I'm going back to 18 and seeing if I can catch up. This isn't for any specific scenario; it's just Radomil fighting... some person. Probably a soldier. Probably for a mercenary contract, perhaps a few years before the start of the story.

Figuwhump Day 16
[ID: A pencil drawing. A dark-haired woman is curled up by a garderobe, resting her head on her arms. Her fingernails are painted, and she looks unwell; her hair covers most of her face. End ID.]
The perspective/angles of the background aren't quite right in this one, but I wanted to spent most of the time on Ide, the character, anyway. She gets sick often, so while this doesn't fit a particular scenario I had in mind, it's probably happened.
