in all seriousness, though, I’m thinking somewhere along the way I need to write some kind of drabble in that ‘verse because rEASONS 

so Claire arrives in the tiny town of Hell’s Kitchen, New Mexico, one of the first women of color to gain her medical degree from the universities back east. she also has the tradition of curandera, a Hispanic healer/wise-woman/midwife behind her, having been taught by her grandmother. upon arriving, she meets Matthew Murdock, a blind lawyer who is quiet, earnest and sincere and neck-deep in conflict against Fisk, the corrupt cattle baron and his henchman, the equally corrupt sheriff, Wesley James. for a blind man, Matt’s uncannily handy with a gun and he has a avenging streak a mile wide, much to the exasperation and worry of his law partner, Franklin “Foggy” Nelson.

somewhere along the way, between the shoot-outs and Matt stubbornly standing up for the oppressed and exasperated bickering between the two of them, there is much western courting/romancing with tea, hat-tipping, stitching up of wounds, careful hand touches, a “kiss before I go” and the day is won

for reading: Lord of the Rings, Anne of Green Gables, A Wrinkle in Time, the Secret Garden.

for watching: the Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings (it’s basically part of my life) and probably any Disney Renaissance movie.

for listening: Florence and the Machine, any of the old classic hymns and “Watch What Happens” from the musical Newsies.

I have a lot of fandoms so, I’ll try limit myself to the ones I (mostly) blog about

Les Mis: Eponine. we’re both fierce, stubborn fighters who aren’t always good with people. 

MCU: it varies, but usually Peggy Carter.

Daredevil: Claire Temple. we’re the ones who try to be the voice of reason

Jane Austen: either Anne Elliot or Jane Bennet. 

LOTR: Eowyn.

I can’t even begin to tell you all the headcanons on Claire’s family + Matt 

like Claire’s mom is super excited that her only daughter finally has a boyfriend, who went to Columbia and is a lawyer--all the ladies were offering up prayers of thanks and relief and of course she’s always fussing over Matt and giving him extra food and whatnot and at first Matt’s a little overwhelmed until Claire’s dad is like, Lupe calm down, let the boy eat. Claire is the apple of her father’s eye, but he watches Matt rest a hand on the small of Claire’s back and Claire casually move something out of Matt’s way or closer to him without even thinking about it and the only thing he really says about it is, You did good, baby girl.   

Claire has two brothers, one older and one younger and her mom’s watching her two-year-old niece when Matt comes over for dinner (the older brother is in the army and deployed, Claire’s sister-in-law works late) and the niece takes one look at Matt and decides, Mine. She’s fascinated by his glasses and Matt’s terrified of dropping her, but eventually she settles down in his lap and is perfectly happy there for the rest of the evening.
