“Hmm hmm hmm~”

Sometimes Althea had to go to the surface for business. Not often enough for her liking, frankly. She loved the surface world, even though she had to stay to the shadows for fear of scaring someone out of their skin. Most days, she could sneak back to the old abandoned manor that served as one of the gateways between worlds without incident.

Today was not most days, it seemed.

Althea’s humming stopped after she enters the creaky manor, and she just had a... feeling that something was off. There was shuffling coming from another room. Maybe a stray animal? Still, it never hurt to check...

Sharp legs glided silently across the floor to the adjacent room, and Althea, most of her body hidden behind the wall, poked her head in... only to make direct eye contact with a human.

(Well, a white-haired, purple-eyed human. Did those exist? Maybe it wasn’t the time to ponder on that.)

“... Erm.” Smooth. “Hello, miss... are you lost?”
