So there's this thing I want to talk about.

Today a Belgian politician said something straight down horrible and I think it's a good example of racism existing everywhere in the world, even though sometimes it seems like it's only America dealing with this shit.

Politician Filip Dewinter brought a Koran with him when he went to speak to the Chamber of Representatives. He brought that book, that holy book with him to the front and showed it to everyone. Dewinter pointed to it and called it: "The reason for a lot of problems, the source of all evil, a LICENSE TO KILL". 

He also said that he's aware that "there are muslims who aren't extremists, but that doesn't mean that the Islam is a non-extreme religion or that the Koran isn't extreme."

Filip Dewinter basically condemned an entire religion in his speech.

Luckily he did not get a lot/any support. Minister Jambon called him out on it: "You're standing here, waving around a book which, to a lot of people in this country, is a book they respect and a book that is sacred. You are turning that entire community against you. We all know that there are too radical and too extreme ellements in the Islamic community, and we all want to fight against those. But for the gap you're creating between the Islam and the rest of our community you will not find any support here." 

Still, even though Filip Dewinter didn't get the support he hoped for, it is a disgrace some people still think they can say stuff like that. I hope the world will call him out on this. I know he's just a measly little politician from a tiny ass, unimportant country, but we can't let them think that this is alright!

Jarenlang zat ik gevangen, gevangen in de klauwen van de maatschappij. Ik voelde mij depressief en minderwaardig. Ik ben een pure Hollandse dame, hier geboren en getogen. In het land van 'vrijheid' voelde ik mij juist gevangen. Nederland, een land dat staat voor vrijheid en gelijkheid (claimt men). Het land van de klompen, bitterballen en de prachtige tulpen. Maar ook het land van de prostitutie en drugs.

Dus dan lees ik vandaag de verschrikkelijk achterlijke brief naar mijn zusters gericht. Het is zo ontzettend triest en tegenstrijdig geschreven dat je niet weet of je moet lachen of huilen. Want laat wel duidelijk zijn dit is een wanhoopsactie, een soort van laatste strohalm. Zieltjes winnen voor haar partij.
