My daughter and I are posing with artist and art restorer Rafáel “Jun” E. Concepción; dean, historian and architect Lorelei de Viana; and history teacher Jhocie Munsayac Santiago; whom I have asked to be the godparents for my daughter’s Confirmation, at the 1983 Santa. Maria della Strada Parish in Quezón City.

All three people were my co-teachers at the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts (IARFA) of the Far Eastern University in Manila.

Retirement collage groupfies

Taking the last day of classes souvenir shots, with my students from the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts (IARFA) of the Far Eastern University () FEU in Manila; during my last day of classes before I took my official retirement from FEU (yes, I am a retiree!)

A year later, I would be work for PHINMA Education, and later move to Cebú City and teach at the Southwestern University. So I have covered three of the cardinal directions of East, West, and South with the schools I have worked in; all that I am missing is to work in a place with the word “North” in it.

KAPWA groupfie

Finally meeting Kapampangan Prof. Elenita “Leny” Mendoza Strobel of the Center of the American Multicultural Studies Department of Sonoma State University during the KAPWA Conference at the University of the Philippines in Baguio City.

I met Prof. Strobel online, as my articles on Filipino ancient spiritual practices caught her attention and the Center for Babaylan Studies, and we had been corresponding ever since. Prof. Strobel had also invited me to speak at the 2010 3rd Babaylan Conference at the Sonoma State University, in California USA.

When Prof. Strobel and I were invited by the artist and writer Katrin De Guia (born 1950) to attend the KAPWA Conference, I readily took the bus up to Baguio.
