Help me help Sam
Hey everyone, I could really use your help right now. Actually, Sam Holmquist, aka finalellipsis , could use your help.
Last week Sam almost lost his 8-year-old son. His son was diagnosed with Type I Juvenile Onset Diabetes which was discovered after he went into shock as a result of his pancreas not producing insulin. You can read more details about the medical stuff here.
Let me tell you why I care about Sam. Actually, I’ve never met Sam. We’ve never been in the same room. But we met through Tumblr years ago when he started following my blog and leaving really snarky (and funny) replies to my posts. Eventually I discovered that he’s a talented photoshop artist and we began collaborating on Tumblr posts. My ideas, his skills. Soon I learned that not only is he a really talented photoshop artist, he’s also a really smart and funny guy. Our ideas, his skills. (I have no skills)
In May of 2012 we started awkward-elevator together. You may remember some of our greatest hits. Together Sam and I have created content that has been shared all over the Internet.
Sam is one of my best friends and most trusted creative partners. And we’ve never stood in the same room.
So now, my friend, and a guy who has created a lot of really amazingly funny GIFs for you all, has fallen on hard times. He doesn’t have Medical Insurance. His medical bills could bury him and his family. Sam has set up a GoFundMe campaign to get help with his medical bills.
