Medical Update on Monday. I’m terrified.
Yeaterday I went to the specalist and told him what has been going on. I felt a little rushed, and like he wasn't fully listening. He did confirm that I have Raynaud's, and told me it wasn't an extreme case of it. He also pressed on different points on my arms, hands, feet, legs, and shoulders to see if there are any pain spots. Which there where. He told me I have fibromyalgia, which is one of the things I was considering. I don't want to try medications right now, because I don't like to take meds. So I'm going to try exercising daily to see if that helps. At least I have some answers and I'm not feeling as if I'm crazy.
I'm still not sure what is causing the dizziness/feeling like I'm going to pass out when I change levels. Such as squatting down and then standing back up. Or what is causing my bpm to suddenly go above 100 when I'm only sitting down or sleeping. I'm going to have a heart monitor here soon.
Sometimes hope doesn’t arrive all at once.
Sometimes it shows up disguised as referrals.
Today looked like:
🧬 A genetics referral to investigate Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and rule out the rarer subtypes instead of making assumptions.
🩻 An MRI referral finally sent.
😴 Sleep medication because apparently surviving on vibes and insomnia wasn’t an evidence-based treatment plan after all.
👁️ And tomorrow afternoon is my ophthalmology follow-up.
I don’t know what the answers will be yet.
But after spending a long time feeling like I had to convince people something was wrong…
Having someone say, “Let’s investigate this properly,” feels like exhaling after holding my breath for far too long.
Here’s to answers.
Whatever they turn out to be. 💜
