#Spookathon Update, #WrapUp and #FinalStats! I'm DONE! I completed all five reading challenges at just after 11:40p on October 21st! 😄😍❤ . . . . It's true that my last book, the one with pictures and the one with purple on the cover (Dopey's hat), was a very beginning reader's book, but it's a book so it works! I finished it at, as said above, just after 11:40p on October 21st (around 35 minutes ago). It only took MAYBE five minutes to read. 😄❤ . . . . And I really enjoyed this book: Step Into Reading Level 1: Disney Princess - Friends for a Princess by Melissa Lagonegro, with illustrations by Atelier Philippe Harchy. It was very sweet. 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . The image of Max in the collage above is blurry because he was running towards me when I called him. He WOULD NOT stay still for a photo when we were outside just now. 😉😍❤ . . . . And Photo Two shares the #Spookathon Reading Challenges with the books I read for them! 😄😍❤ . . . . If you're wondering, Nevernight by Jay Kristoff worked for the not set in the current time challenge because it is set in a world that has an entirely different calendar from our world! 😄 . . . . And it works for the spooky word in title challenge because Nevernight - or Never-Night? - I shudder at the thought of living in a world with THREE suns that only experiences truedark once every THREE YEARS. 😨 . . . . And I'm counting Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw as my thriller because it's a positively THRILLING mystery. 😄❤ . . . . Well, the Dewey's 24-Hour #Readathon #deweyoct 'thon is officially over now - ended over five hours ago - and I can't help but be very disappointed with my performance in it. 😕 #WrapUp #FinalStats #ClosingSurvey #ReadathonBINGO ❤ . . . . I read just 293 pages in two books: The second half of Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (213/429pp) and the first three chapters of Dreadful Company by Vivian Shaw (80/399pp). I didn't manage to listen to any of my audiobook of It by Stephen King, nor did I start the anthology - Toil and Trouble, edited by Jessica Spotswood and Tess Sharpe - or read either of my Fables graphic novels. And I had had such plans! 😕🙄❤ . . You also might have noticed that I abandoned the #ReadathonHourlyPhoto challenge after Hour 14 (I think). I MEANT to continue posting - even had plans for photos! - but Hour 15 was when things started falling apart for me. I just wanted to read Dreadful Company by Vivian Shaw at that point. 🙄❤ . . YES, I WILL DEFINITELY PARTICIPATE AGAIN, BUT I CANNOT HELP WITH THE ORGANIZATION OR PREP. . I STILL am fighting to find a good balance between reading and social time. And also, getting older is not helping things because I would REALLY like to stay awake for the whole of a Readathon. Or maybe I should set April's alarm for a week out with daily reminders and then I'll finally be able to start a #Readathon with more than three or four hours of sleep? 🙄❤ . . Today's August 31st task for #jcfaugust is to share a #WrapUp. So here I am sharing my #FinalStats for the #NEWTsReadathon2018 #magicalreadathon! 😄🎉❤ . . . . All told, I completed 30 books for 30 N.E.W.T.s! I graduated with an Outstanding grade in all 10 classes! And I read a total of 7,208 pages. 😄🎉📚❤ . . . . Photo One above shares the last bookI read for my final Outstanding N.E.W.T.: Serpentine by Laurell K Hamilton, audio performed by Kimberly Alexis (5⭐). I completed this book yesterday. Okay, so technically I reached the end at 12:20a on August 31st, but I'm calling it read on August 30th. 😊❤ . . . . Photo One above also shares the intruder we had in our front yard a bit ago. It's a hawk! 😍 . . . . Photo Two shares my 31st book read in August: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne. This book gives me a total monthly count of 7,517 pages read. I don't know how to rate this story. For much of it (Acts One, Two, AND Three? Maybe also part of Act Four?), I hoped that the Albus-in-Slytherin story would be revealed to be a bad dream. Sometime in Act Four I accepted that it was all truly happening THAT way. 😕 . . . . So I did not love this 8th Harry Potter book. Harry didn't seem like himself for most of this story, if that makes sense. The ending was good, but. . . I think maybe this book was a three-star read for me. I actually started it last night, during a period after my phone, where Serpentine was playing on audio, died and had to be charged. I read Act One. This morning I was unsure if I wanted to read more. 😕 . . . . In the end, I'm glad I finished this book. But I just can't say that I really enjoyed it. ⭐⭐⭐ 😕 . . . . Here's my #afairytaleathon readathon #WrapUp and #FinalStats! I completed all of the Reading Challenges! 😄🎉❤ . . . . Kill the Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne, pictured in Photo Three, worked for three of these challenges! One of the Fables volumes could probably have worked for challenge 3: a book with Fae, but I went ahead and counted Kill the Farm Boy for that challenge as well as for the 1st and 5th! Hopefully that's allowed! 😄❤ . . . . And yes, I did reread The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen! I had a hankering to revisit it after I finished Sea Witch by Sarah Henning, so I revisited it! 😀❤ . . . . All told, I read 1,862 pages in 6 graphic novels, 2 true novels, and 1 e-book. #Cramathon Update and #FinalStats! I finished my 11th book! And this audio of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the best, yet! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐➕! For much of the final few hours (starting, I think, during the scene IN the Shrieking Shack), I forgot I was listening to Jim Dale's performance. It felt like I was watching a movie without seeing the screen, if that makes sense. 😊🎉❤ . . . . All told, I read 11 books during #Cramathon, as said above. To see all the books, scroll to Photo Two! The print books are shown in order read from bottom to top, while the audiobooks go from top to bottom. 😊🎉📚❤ . . . . Also, during #Cramathon I read roughly 3,279 pages, if the audiobooks were read (and two of them WERE also read!). Or, I read 2,600 pages and listened to 32h,54m. 😉❤ . . . . #MiddleGradeMay and #bookadayinMay #WrapUp and #FinalStats! I read A LOT of books in May. FORTY-FIVE (45!!!), to be exact. Most were middle-grade books. I thought I read 31, but unless another one is missing a Read Date on Goodreads (*grrr*), it looks like I only read 30. And I tried so hard to read 31! 😭 . . . . In other books, I apparently read 15 adult and YA books. All of the books are pictured in the order I read them, from bottom to top, but some of the books were either e-books/audiobooks or they HAD to be returned to the library. 😕 . . . . Of the latter type of placeholder, that solid yellow spine between Funny Girl and One Trick Pony on the left is for Carnival in a Fix, which was an Interlibrary Loan that had to be returned a week ago; and on the right, the blank pages between I Hate Fairyland Volume 3 and When All the Girls Have Gone are for Stargirl (on hold for somebody else, so had to also be returned a week ago), while the blank pages above Not a Girl Detective (which I actually read as an audiobook) and below The Seafarer's Kiss are a stand-in for the audiobook of You (I renewed the hardcover so many times, it too had to go back a week ago). 😊 . . . . The two books that are pages out on the bottom of that right-hand stack are in place of The Handmaid's Tale, which I both read and listened to. And the blank pages above The Dry hardcover are for the audiobook of The Dry (I read both editions). 😊 . . . . Technically, I could have put images of the e-books and audiobooks, but that felt too time-consuming. I was feeling lazy. 😉🤗❤ . . . . Hopefully you can read the titles if you zoom in, as there are far too many to list. 🤗😉❤ . . . . And if you're wondering where Max is, he ran away right after I moved the giant middle-grade stack over by him. He SHOULD be just behind the stack on the right. I didn't start reading for it until Tuesday the 22nd, but I did stick to and read all the books on my TBR! Plus a couple! 😄🎉📚❤ . . . . Landlubber - A book with a character unlike me: Jack and the Geniuses at the Bottom of the World by Bill Nye the Science Guy and Gregory Mone, illustrated by Nick Iluzada (Ava, an MC, is African-American), 4⭐. . . . .
