At Flickr, people have been adding tags for Christmas across the Commons This image of McLaren family picking Christmas Bells at Lime Burners Creek - Port Macquarie, NSW, 2 December 1918, by Harry McLaren from the State Library of New South Wales was given that tag.
Have a look at images from many organisations which have been tagged Christmas across the Commons

Findery: Discover Your City
Have you ever walked the streets or toured a new city wondering what random facts, advice, and history surrounds you? If so then you must check out the app Findery. Explore your surroundings and go on an adventure. Findery is a mobile app that connects to your surroundings. Users post tips, advice, random facts, and is essentially the Wikipedia of your neighborhood.
It is great to find dining options, historical sites, and hear users stories. It was created by Catherine Fake the creator of Flickr. She specializes in creating apps that engage users to participate and contribute to social media. Findery can offer users a differ type of learning experience, recommendations, and connect to others nearby.
Findery is an interactive map with geo-tagged notes that others nearby can see. It has great uses when visiting amusement parks, museums, and other attractions. Users can share knowledge and tips that others do not know. According to CEO Catherine Fake "I learned so much about my neighborhood. You take a few steps and find a note that Janis Joplin, when she was 19 years old, saw Big Momma Thornton singing this blues song, or that Courtney Love lived down the street while dating Kurt Cobain, or a group of Satanists lived in this scary looking mansion at the end of the block....There's all of this interesting stuff from all over the place, you know it's there, but you somehow don't always have access to it. Now you do."
Sign up here and explore your own surroundings here:

Hiya traveling friends! I’m very excited to share that a short blog post I wrote about my fancy for light sources was just featured on one of my favorite online communities for travelers: Findery.com.
The point of the post was to highlight Three Great Notemaps satisfying a particular subject or strain of thinking. I chose light sources, because these days it seems — whether I am focused on photography, or design, or even on just walking down the road — someone near me is keen to find a light source!
The following are my three picks from Findery (with photos from my own collection):
Neon Signs by @OnTheRoad
The entire point of neon lights on a storefront is to get your attention…
Sunsets Sunrises and Moons by @Jessica
If there is a sunset, a sunrise, a moon or a supermoon, a bright star, a milky way or a galaxy, an Earth shot of the space station or a meteor shower…
Lighthouses by @parksandrec
What I love about this Notemap and lighthouses in general is that they have one purpose and that is to provide light to sea vessels trying to venture safely to shore…
I break for Neon. In Houston, Texas
Sun sets into a gradient sky over the landscape in Namibia, southern Africa
Peggy’s Lighthead in Nova Scotia
Findery Notemaps // Lightsources Hiya traveling friends! I'm very excited to share that a short blog post I wrote about my fancy for light sources…
Football urinal
At the National Football Museum in Manchester, even the toilets are themed.

Manchester City Centre, Victoria Station Approach (Stop Nx), Manchester M4, UK
I am a fan of this football-themed display of urinal ingenuity from the Manchester City Centre in Manchester, England.

Review of Findery for iPhone – The Social Local Knowledge Sharing App
I’ve been fortunate in my life and career to be able to travel a lot of the world. If there is one thing that is always the challenge though it is finding the local knowledge about a particular place. There are plenty of apps out there to help you plan your travel and give you the highlights but what about the local knowledge of a place? What are the secrets that a city holds? That’s where…
