When Jon visits Braavos, he manages to convince Arya to return to Winterfell. After six years of being away, things are different and so is she.
When she runs into the reason why she stayed away for so long, she realises not everything has changed.

i’ve only loosely followed the prompts this time because they were a bit harder to pull all together given how many there were in one go.

The house is quiet and airy besides the noise that her brothers make outside while they set up. She still doesn’t know how big of a party they’re deciding to have but it makes her happy to see them all putting their efforts into planning it.
Arya makes her way to the guest bathroom, pulling out her phone to ask her sister when she plans on arriving. Normally, she can walk through the house with her eyes closed and not even bump into the skirting.
So, when she hits into a solid frame, it causes alarm. Her phone falls to the hardwood floor and she looks up into familiar blue eyes.
“Stupid,” Arya says under her breath as she picks up her phone.
“Good to see you too, Arya,” he gives her a tight smile. “Are you alright?”
Arya sighs and puts her phone into her pocket. “Gendry, I didn’t even know you were here.” She tells him. He looks different from when she last saw him.
“Your brothers told me they were having a party, I thought I’d give a hand in setting up.” Gendry explains. He seems to catch on that she doesn’t really want to be having this conversation, so he leaves her to it.
Arya watches him walk away. Either he’s taller than she remembers or she just hasn’t seen him in three years. He’s also definitely bigger.
She can admit that she’s always found Gendry rather beautiful. His deep black hair was always messy and his eyes so deep and blue. Now, he looks more a man than he ever was before.
In the bathroom, she notices the blush that colours her cheeks. “Stupid,” she says to herself in the mirror before pulling out her phone again and texting Sansa.

Over the years the Starks slowly find their way back to Winterfell. After Robb is the last to leave and first to return, more of his siblings filter back into their childhood home.
So much has changed, and yet so much is still the same. Between surviving their parents and adulthood, and their complicated romantic entanglements, the Starks find that their paths are easiest when they're together.

What's one story you've written, you're the most proud of?
definitely everything of my heart. it’s currently a 50k word wip that i haven’t posted yet. a stark peaky blinder au that is a sequel to a fic i posted a few years ago called the burning spider.
What's one story you wished you had expanded on, or spent more time writing?
i don’t actually have any fics where i feel this way about. because i think ive given each project the time they needed/deserved.
but if i ever had to expand/rewrite a fic i would love to re write my old crack fic — help!, that kind of set me on a different path with my writing that im happy about.
What's your favourite trope of all time?
hands down, friends to lovers. especially best friends to lovers. i think a good majority of my fics and ships have the trope somewhere there.
If you could be the main character in one of your stories, what one would it be?
hmm i don’t think i’d want to be in any of my stories. i have a bad habit of making my main characters rather miserable and i think ive had enough misery to last a lifetime.
Do you think you'll ever stop writing for the fandom you're currently most active in?
i actually don’t know. i can never say never but after 7 years of writing asoiaf fic, i can say im still not bored. maybe someday ill find a different hobby but not now. even if the fandom dies out. at this point its just me and yana reading my fics so nothing will change.
You've been given a book deal. What story are you publishing from your collection?
either we both coincide or watch me wary (unposted). both are about self discovery and since the main characters are rickon, lyanna and a bunch of OCs, it just feels the most mine.
Top writing tip for others?
this is a hard one because i do think there’s a lot of nuance when it comes to writing. but i recently (quite late unfortunately) discovered the true power of planning. it’s tedious but does wonders.
and like em said, writing for yourself is a big one. i think writing for yourself is what makes writing enjoyable and genuine. if you allow other people to affect your writing, it just sucks the fun out of it.
when i started writing for myself, it really changed my writing drastically for the better.
