FYI if you're making a FSM-based character controller, make sure you put condition checks in state loops rather than a global one that runs constantly
guess why i know this :/

Learning Together: Unity3d and Playmaker MouseOver State Machine.
Learning Together: Unity3d and Playmaker MouseOver State Machine.
It’s an exciting day today. I bring to you the first edition of “Learning Together”. I came up with the idea during a car ride this weekend to get ice cream. I was so burned out with Unity3D and Playmaker. There’s tons of resources out there, but they didn’t quite do what I wanted. I spent hours browsing the forums of Hutong (a great resource) to finally get this wonderfully complex (It’s…

#DailyDev - Day 5 : Implementing and customizing an open source #nodeEditor for #AI #programming
Daily Dev Day 5!
Decided to nix the custom scripting API I was building for boss AI and trade it in for a shiny node based finite state machine, since that’ll be easier to work with in the future.
Going to be another later on Daily Dev stream today, as yet again I will be busy during my usual time for it.
Also, decided I want to take a different approach to my boss AI scripting than what I was taking. instead of a rudimentary scripting language, I think I will implement a finite state machine setup. it’ll provide the same options as the scripting language, but open up the kind of actions I can do by an exponential amount.
Here’s my new Finite State Machine (FSM) for Unity5! Took me a while to figure out.. It’s quite brutal overall, but I love it! possibleStatesTypes MUST be stored if the entity changes state a lot, because accessing the assembly doesn’t seem to be very light..
