Finn gave her a smile. “You don't have to worry about me.”
“Too late for that,” she joked, giving his hand a squeeze. “I worry about everyone. It's one of my main personality traits.”
He laughed at that, which made her smile widen, but before they could talk further, Han walked up to them, looking skeptically between them and then down at their hands. Finn wilted a little under her father's stare and tried to pull his hand away, but she simply tightened her grip, giving her father a look which dared him to say something.
“You two lovebirds ready to go?” he asked instead.
hihii! hope ur takin care of urself! i was wonderin if i could get a teensy tinsy fic where reader is puttin makeup on finn? or somethin like that! kith kith n dont feel like u have2 write it if u dont want 2!! <3
Of course I got you! Finn would be so cute with makeup (not that he isn't cute enough already UwU). Hope you like it! ❤❤❤
Finn had always been a curious one to the things you like to do, especially since you had always showed interest in his hobbies and what he likes. Finn had always noticed your interest in makeup and different looks with it, but he never really had the chance to talk to you about it. He either got to nervous because he didn't know much about it or he got distracted by something else.
However he ended up staying the night over at your place after you two had a movie date one night. The next morning he watched as you started getting ready for the day including putting on your makeup for the day. As he got up and walked over to you, he grabbed one of the makeup brushes you had out already before blushing and slowly asking you "If-f it would be o-okay my sunflower, may I r-request that you do my makeup?"
He puts the brush in your hand nervously waiting for your response to him. You smiled softly at him, gathering makeup items you need before having him sit down somewhere comfortable in your room. "Sit here and just relax, I wont be able to do it properly if you're all tensed up." The rest of the the morning was filled with questions of how certain makeup works and small laughter....and of course having to tell him to sit still once or twice.
@okay-hotshot and I got to talking about soft mornings with Finn and this is what happened. I apologize for nothing except maybe for the fact that I don’t think force sensitivity works this way, but it’s cute so it’s staying
Tagging: @damerondjarin @tintinwrites @darksideofclarke @poeticandors @himbopoes I’d love to write more for my sunshine boy but I also have no clue who to tag, so if you want to be tagged in any future Finn works let me know! 💕
You become aware of a few things as the fog of sleep begins to clear from your mind, waking by increments. The first thing you notice is that you’re warm. You’re warm but not uncomfortably so, wrapped up in a shirt that’s soft on your skin and not your own. Your arms are wrapped around the one he has stretched over you, almost cuddling his hand to your chest while the body it belongs to is pressed close to your back and spilling heat like a furnace.
Finn’s head is nuzzled into the curve of your neck, slow breaths skating over your skin and all you want to do is stretch and bask in the quiet affection, in the way it seems you two only moved closer throughout the night. You carefully begin to untangle your hands from his own, moving slowly to not wake the sleeping man at your back but also not to break the haze of sleep that still clouded your mind— you don’t know what time it is but you want to enjoy the morning as much as you can.
You begin to peel yourself away from him, starting to lift his arm from your middle and trying to crawl out from underneath it before he could wake but your slow movements are just enough to rouse him and he’s pulling you back to him before you can put a foot on the floor. “Finn, I have to pee,” You try to reason with him, your voice soft and whispering as he shifts, curling closer.
“No you don’t,” His voice is thick and rough with sleep and you huff softly. He’s right, of course. You had wanted to get up to stretch a bit, maybe get a glass of water or some caf before crawling back into bed with him but it seems like those possibilities are rapidly dwindling.
Without opening your eyes you roll over to nestle into his chest, throwing your arm around his bare middle while his own slides up your ribcage until he can cup the side of your head. “I hate force sensitives,” You sigh because his thumb is stroking under your eye, the soft touch threatening to drag you back under. You feel his chest rumble with an unconvinced hum and then his lips are pressing against your forehead in a light kiss.
“Right, that’s why you’re in bed with one,” He doesn’t stop petting you, reveling in the feeling of your fingers tracing nonsense on his back, so slow he thinks you’re two minutes away from falling back to sleep. He opens his eyes just a sliver, just enough to see you in front of him and the sight makes his heart swell in his chest. Your eyes are still closed and the corners of your lips are turned up into a small smile, your body lax against him. He still wonders how this happened, wonders what he did to deserve you and these mornings together.
“Mmm, that’s how hate works, right?” You find yourself nestling closer to his body until he just rolls onto his back, taking you with him so you end up sprawled over his chest. You murmur happily at the change of position and can’t help another sigh from leaving your lips.
“Oh yeah, totally.” He agrees, his hand slipping underneath your shirt— his shirt, actually, and simply runs his hand over the soft skin he finds there, marveling at how you feel in his arms. He thinks you’ve fallen back asleep when you suddenly mumble against his chest, yawning as you did.
“In that case I hate you, so much,” You promise him and you don’t see the way he smiles brightly at the ceiling but you feel the squeeze he gives you, both of his arms wrapped tight around you.
Love Teams (Finn x Filipinx!Reader Kilig One-Shot)
GIF credit: I don’t know, but it’s not mine.
Pairing: AU Finn x Filipinx!Reader, Poe Dameron x Filipinx!Reader (Platonic)
Warnings: Cringe. Cursing. Drinking to get over secondhand embarrassment.
Word count: 1,148 words
A/N: Kinda ironic how I can write and read kilig, but I can’t watch it. Anyway, this was based off when my friends and I decided to watch “She’s Dating the Gangster.” Here is the link to the specific scene they talk about.
Requested by: @princeabomination
Kilig is a Tagalog word to describe the feeling of excitement and exhilaration and possibly embarrassment from anything remotely romantic.

“Whose stupid idea was this?” you asked, placing a second bottle of wine on the coffee table before snuggling in between Finn and Poe.
“Oh come on! We had to watch it after you showed us the trailer!” Finn exclaimed. He was currently snacking on the grapes and cheese you had set out. Poe, the eternal third wheel of your relationship with Finn, grabbed one of the wine bottles and got to work on popping the cork.
“I told you guys, I can’t watch this stuff. The secondhand embarrassment is too much. We’re going to have to pause the movie every ten minutes, so I can get up,” you huffed, crossing your arms. It was your brilliant idea to hang out and watch a movie. In your defense, you were joking when you showed them the trailer to a Filipino rom-com called “She’s Dating the Gangster.” Finn and Poe, however, insisted on watching the cheesy movie, partly because of genuine interest, but mostly to watch you cringe for two hours.
“However long it takes, we are going to watch this movie!” Poe finally popped the cork on the wine, pouring all three of you equal amounts. He then swirled the glass and sipped it, making a show of smacking his mouth to really get the taste.“Ahh…that’s..disappointing.”
“You chose that wine,” Finn remarked.
“This movie is in Tagalog!” you interrupted. You were ready to pull out all the stops to not watch this movie.
“We know how to read, Y/N” Poe replied. “Ok so can you explain everything again from the top?”
You groaned. “Ok so in Philippines, they have love teams. Think Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato. Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez. Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus…you get it. Anyway, these love teams make a whole bunch of movies and commercials together because their chemistry sells. Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo have been a love team for years now, and they’re actually dating in real life. Filipinos looooove a good rom-com. The more kilig, the better.”
“Do they always have to be dating to be a love team?” Finn asked.
“I don’t think so, but the most successful ones are dating,” you answered. “In the movie, there’s two couples played by the same actors, but in different times. Modern-day couple is the one going on a crazy adventure. 90’s couple is the one who pretends to be in a relationship but then the girl falls in love for real. Oh noooooo.” You took a significant swig of your wine in preparation for the cringe you were about to feel.
“Damn, babe. We could have been a great love team.” Finn remarked. He put his arm around you, and you snuggled into his side, reveling in the warmth he provided. He tilted your chin and placed a sweet kiss on your lips. “Do you think they’d make a love team name for us?”
“Oh god and have to do these movies?!” You grabbed the blanket and curled it around your hands, ready to act as a shield when the movie gets too kilig. You felt something heavy settle across your lap. You looked down and saw Poe had made himself comfortable by sitting sideways, resting his legs and feet across your lap and Finn’s, respectively. “You’re way too comfortable sometimes, Dameron.”
“That’s because you guys are my number one love team,” Poe toasted his cup to us. Finn burst out laughing at his best friend’s remarks while you rolled your eyes and started the movie.
Approximately an hour into the movie, 7 pauses, and a bottle of wine later, it was safe to say Finn and you were tipsy while Poe was wine-drunk. If it wasn’t apparent from your wine-stained lips, it became really obvious through Poe’s and your live commentary. On the screen, the modern-day couple were dancing in the bed of a moving truck, sharing headphones, having a cute moment, while a romantic song that completely mismatched the tempo of their dance played overhead. The modern-day couple’s truck dancing scene would switch with the 90’s couple’s club dancing scene. The truck from modern day stopped in the middle of the road. The couple was oblivious to the halt in movement, caught up in each other’s eyes. The truck’s driver exits with a shit-eating grin on his face, looking at the couple who were holding each other in the bed of his truck, lost to the world around them. The driver asked, “Ano nangyayari diyan? Okay lang kayo?!” (What’s happening there? Are y’all ok?).
You paused the movie once again. Grabbing the second bottle, you poured more wine into your cup, yelling, “This ninong-looking-ass motherfucker! Agh I can’t take this! It’s cute but so cringe.” You drank a huge gulp, begging your body to let go of the embarrassment that you were feeling.
“They really love each other, don’t they? Their love even inspired a young couple years down the line.” Finn muttered, invested in the movie while you could only scrunch your face in return. Poe remained quiet, still sitting sideways. He was scanning your cups of wine together with the intense concentration that only a wine-drunk man could possess. You were about to play the movie when Poe suddenly got up, moving his legs off your lap and his feet off Finn’s lap, nearly knocking Finn’s drink in the process. Poe got on his knees in front of the coffee table and pushed both your cup and his side-to-side, sloshing the dark burgundy liquid around. He brought his face level to the cups, studying the meniscus, which were at the same level. Meanwhile, Finn and you remained snuggled on the couch, watching Poe as he took your cup and poured more wine into his cup then downed it.
“Poe! Babe did you see that?” You looked up at Finn, who couldn’t hold in his laughter and was clutching his stomach from having previously laughed so hard from Poe’s and your live commentary throughout the movie. “Babe! He took my wine!”
Poe rolled his eyes. He settled sideways against the couch again, placing his legs into your laps and his feet into Finn’s. “Yeah she deserved it,” Poe slurred.
“Finn!” You whined. “He took my wine!”
“Babe, it’s ok! Look.” Finn comforted. He leaned forward and grabbed the bottle of wine, refilling yours generously. You grinned, sipping from your cup. You lifted Finn’s arm, placed it around your shoulder, and burrowed yourself into his side. Finn happily obliged, kissing the temple of your forehead. You grabbed his jaw in return, giving him proper kisses that tasted of wine and cheese.
Christmas fic prompt: Finn and reader don’t feel like having a white Christmas, so they decide to have a green Christmas somewhere else, please
Send in Christmas prompts for characters listed here!
“Is that your mom still yelling?”
“She stopped yelling about how you need a ‘nice Christmas’ with a ‘normal family’ and at some point changed the subject to how she’s waiting for grandchildren to spend Christmas with her.”
“We moved in together a few months ago and she’s already expecting kids?”
“If you want to talk to her about it then be my guest, but she’s gonna win the argument.”
Finn put the drinks he was holding down and picked up your phone where your mother’s voice was faintly shouting, setting it under a folded towel.
You grinned, picking up the mojito he’d ordered for you and clinking the glass against his as he laid on the lounge chair next to you. “I’m glad I get to spend Christmas with someone this smart.”
“I’m glad I get to spend Christmas with only you. The first couple times at your parents’ was nice and all, but you’re my family. I didn’t have anybody during the holidays when I was a kid and I only need you, not a fancy, decorated house, or another knitted sweater, or three feet of cold snow.”
“I love some of my parents’ traditions, but you’re totally right. It’s not like we’ll need my mom’s knitted sweaters in Miami.”
Clinking your glasses again, Finn leaned over the small space between your chairs and kissed you gently. “I can definitely drink to that.”
“What say we enjoy the sun for another hour and then head up to our room? I have a couple presents there for you.”
“Is one of the presents you?” He kissed you again, this time slightly slower.
You pulled away with a quirk of your eyebrow, smirking a little bit.
He would probably be doing a happy dance if he had no shame, sipping on his drink like having you as a present was something to be proud of.
Smiling adoringly at him, you sat back and closed your eyes to enjoy the warmth of the sun, the rustle of palm trees behind you. “Merry Christmas, Finny.”
Here is the first of the spooktober stories! Sorry I didn’t get this up until now, just things at work have prevented me from writing all that much but I am hoping to get more going this weekend. This chapter’s slightly short but the next one will be longer, I promise you.

TRIGGER WARNING: MAYBE LANGUAGE, MENTION OF PREVIOUS DEATH
Synopsis: Willow Hartwick has never stepped foot in Salem Ma until the other day when her mother literally packed them up and brought them there. Now Willow is learning interesting things about the family that she never knew existed and who’s that strange gorgeous man Finn Balor following her. Willow learns that not only are witches real but she’s also one with a very dangerous and dark secret about her that can destroy everything that she holds dear.
A painful scream pierced the quiet Salem night. Rebekah Hartwick felt like her entire insides were rebelling against her as another contraction hit her body. She panted and tried to breathe like her midwife was instructing her but it was getting harder to accomplish.
"Come on bekah one more push, you can do it," Anna soothed to her gently. Rebekah groaned screwing up her eyes tightly and trying to push with everything she had inside of her. She finally heard what she had been waiting to, the wailing cry of a baby coming into the world.
Rebekah slumped back on the bed as Anna carried the baby over to the table that had been set up to clean the baby up and swaddle her in a blanket. She smiled as the little girl tried to open her eyes blinking them, with some of the most beautiful blue eyes starring back at Anna.
She carried the baby over to the bed and placed her gently into Rebekah's arms. Rebekah couldn't hold in the tears that just started streaming down her cheeks. "Hello little Willow, I'm you're mother," she cooed at the tiny bundle of joy in her arms. She couldn't believe it, her daughter was finally here, she just wished her husband was still alive to see this moment himself.
"Thank you so much for..." Rebekah started saying as she looked up at Anna but froze when she saw that Anna was standing there still as stone. "Anna?" She called out to her, but the girl still didn't move.
Suddenly Anna's eyes flew open but the look was so far away and glazed over. Rebekah opened her mouth to say something when Anna opened her mouth as this strange voice came forth.
"You're daughter will not live to see her twentieth birthday." Then Anna blinked and looked around the room like she didn't have any idea what had just happened. Rebekah felt like her heart was in her throat, bile was rising quickly and she had to fight everything inside of her to keep it from spewing from her mouth. The tears started coming faster and Anna ran over to the bed thinking maybe something was wrong with her or the baby. "Is everything okay Rebekah?" She asked.
Rebekah took a deep breathe trying to control her emotions, she had just given birth, her daughter wasn't even an hour old and she hears that. But she couldn't explode on Anna, it wasn't her fault she had a premonition like that, she couldn't control what she saw or said. "I'm fine Anna, will you go and fetch my mother please," she remarked and Anna nodded quickly leaving the room.
Rebekah held her daughter closer to her chest, rocking her back and forth gently. She hummed a lullaby to her but her heart was still lodged in her throat.
The moment Ramona Deveraux entered the room Rebekah lost it. It only took Ramona a few strides to reach her daughter's side and pulled Rebekah into her side. "Willow isn't even a hour old and Anna just had a premonition about her, about Willow." Rebekah cried as her mother comfortingly rubbed her hand up and down her daughter's arm.
"What did she see sweetheart?" Ramona asked and Rebekah took a deep breathe dreading saying these words. She had lost her husband a few months ago and how she had heard her daughter wasn't going to make it to her twentieth birthday.
"She didn't say what she saw, just that Willow wouldn't live to see her twentieth birthday, Mama what am I going to do, I can't lose her," she replied looking down at the wonderful sleeping daughter in her arms. Ramona sighed pressing a gently kiss to her daughter's temple.
"We will figure something out my darling, I promise you, nothing will happen to Willow." She remarked standing from the bed, "I will perform a spell to see if we can figure this out." She then swept out of the room quickly making her way back into the main house. She traveled down the long dark cellar stairs and over to her book of shadows. She started flipping through the pages until she found what she was looking for. She started to perform the incantation closing her eyes as slight images flashed behind her lids.
Rebekah continued gently rocking Willow in her arms hoping her mother would be able to fix this, she couldn't bare the thought of something happening to her daughter. She brushed the wisp of hair out of her face and smiled as Willow started squirming in her arms.
She jumped as her mother stride back into the room a forlorn look crossing her features. Rebekah felt her body freeze at the look her mother had, feeling this growing dread creep into the room, seizing her heart and squeezing it.
"I couldn't see much, I only saw glimpses, I don't know what happens to Willow but I do know that it happens here, in Salem." The moment those words left Ramona's mouth Rebekah was slipping off the bed placing Willow down in the crib there.
"Then we are leaving, I won't lose my daughter mom, I can't." She replied as she went to the closet grabbing out her suitcase. She threw all of the clothes she had in the room into it before turning to her mother who had a disheartened look on her face. Rebekah sighed going over and pulling her mother into her arms hugging her close. "I'm sorry mom but I can't stay here if it means losing my daughter." She replied and Ramona nodded her head against her daughter's shoulder.
"I understand my darling, any mother would do the same, I just want you to know that I love you and support whatever decision you decide." She replied pulling back to get a good look at her daughter.
Rebekah quickly made sure she packed everything that she had in the room, she knew that she was going to have to leave her house behind, thankfully she had a large sum of money from her husband's life insurance policy that she could tap into. She packed up everything that she thought she would need at her home, sighing as she locked the door behind her.
She headed back to her mother's were she picked up little Willow and said her goodbyes to her parents and younger sister Rachel.
"I wish you didn't have to leave but I understand why you are going, I'm going to miss you so much Bekah," Rachel whispered holding her sister in a emotional hug. Rebekah gave her sister a gentle squeeze back.
"I'm going to miss you as well Rachel, but I have to do this, I know that are going to growing into such an amazing witch," she replied stroking her sister's cheek gently before getting pulled into her father's strong arms. She melted into them wishing she didn't have to leave but her daughter's well fair was more important than anything.
"I love you my spitfire, you take care and call when you get somewhere safe." He gruffed out, trying to hide the fact that tears were slipping down his cheeks. She gave him a watery smiled nodding her head and then her mother was on her, and they both started balling together. Her mother was her rock, her light, the woman that taught her everything that she knew. It felt like someone was craving her heart out of her chest having to leave the only home she ever knew.
"I love you mama and papa, I promise the moment we get settled in I will call." She had to pull herself from her mother's arms, her father wrapping her mother up and comforting her the best he could. Rebekah walked back to her car, sliding into the driver side and looking at her daughter sleeping peacefully in the backseat and knew that she was doing the right thing.
As they left the town, the sign announcing their departure from Salem a spike of pain went through her chest at the knowledge that she was leaving her home, her family and her life, but she kept on going knowing that this was what she had to do.
Crystal let out a breath as she entered her house from a long day at work. She toed off her sneakers and breathed a sigh of relief as her feet started to feel better. She finally noticed that all her lights were off and that confused her. She tried turning on the switch, but still nothing.
She was in no mood for foolishment on this day. Only thing she wanted to do was put her feet up, watch television, eat, and get ready for the next day. The lights start to flicker on and off and she rolled her eyes. She wasn’t in the mood, then she heard laughter.
“God, I’m letting it be known now. Whoever is in my house when I find them I’m fuck them up.”
She sighed as the lights continue to flicker on and off. She then heard a voice and she rubbed her temples. Not in the mood she kept saying to herself. As the voice got louder. She kept walking until she seen a figure standing in her kitchen. The lights flickering on and off on him. She knew who it was and he better be lucky he was cute.
“Finn, I’m giving you 10 seconds to turn on all my lights.”
Finn blinked rapidly as he rushed to the outlet to turn on the lights on. Once the lights were on he made his way to Crystal’s bedroom kind of scared. The door was open and he slowly made his way in the room. Crystal was laying in her bed with her legs crossed.
“What was that Finn?”
“I... I was trying to introduce you to my Alter Ego in wrestling.”
Finn remarked as he started to take his shirt off to join her in bed.
“Well number one I would like a heads up because I could have busted you upside your head. Two don’t do that dumb shit again. Three get in bed so I can take a nap.”
Finn said nothing as he made his way towards the bed and climbed in bed with her. Crystal turned around to see Finn shirtless. Finn gave her a cheeky grin and bought her body close to his.
“You being shirtless doesn’t stop the fact you could have gotten that ass beat.”
“But, me being shirtless stops you from being mad.”
Crystal rolled her eyes as she snuggled up against him.
“Do that dumb shit again I’m beating your ass.”
Finn swallowed nervously as he knew his girlfriend was being dead serious. He fought big ass men for a living but this woman put fear in his heart.
Fandom: Star Wars
Pairing: Finn x (Resistance member)reader
Genres: fluff
Words: 1.925
Summary: You’re assigned to help Finn settle into the Resistance and during the time, you and him become friends. But, is there a chance for something more? - requested by @captainbarness
A/N: First fic for Star Wars so every feedback would be appreciated! :)
A sudden commotion captures your attention and so you shift your gaze from a screen and fix it on a growing group of men and women, visibly sharing an exciting news. Their eyes are alight, faces tinted with pink.
You scoff and return your attention to the screen. You were never one to gossip, never too keen to hear fresh rumors, unlike many of your friends. Working in the Resistance base was interesting as it was, you didn’t need a dose of gossip every day.
Yet, try as you might, you can’t avoid it. Thea, one of your friends, who works at a station next to yours, scampers to her workplace and after sitting down slides her chair closer to you.
“Y/N, have you heard?” she whispers, an excitation evident in her voice and you fight back an urge to roll your eyes.
“No, but I am sure you’re about to tell me, right?”
“Well, yes! Finn, that stormtrooper, woke up this morning!”
“And what it has to do with our job?”
She snorts.
“You always spoil my fun.”
“Thea, I don’t see how that Finn guy affects our work here. I get that you’re all hyped about him, but what he has to do with me?” you shrug and Thea sends you a indignant grimace.
“He’s cute, you know.”
“And? Have you seen him?”
“No, but I know a girl who knows someone who works in the medical ward. And she says he’s handsome.”
“You’re unbelievable,” you chuckle, shaking your head at her. Thea winks at you before the two of you decide to finally get back to work. The reports and scans won’t do themselves, and you have to concentrate all your attention to be able to spot anything out of ordinary or possibly threatening on the maps.
You hear Thea chatting with someone, but you don’t register her words. She’s probably just passing the news and you, having already learnt it, don’t deem it necessary to keep listening to her. Besides, what else can she tell you apart from so essential for your work fact that the former stormtrooper is awake?
Sighing, you narrow your eyes at a spot on the radar. It seems to be a common fleet of merchants passing by, but you decide to keep an eye on it until it will fly away far enough for you to consider it not-hostile.
You become so focused on the job at hand that you practically mute all of the sounds that surrounds you, your mind set entirely on the radar in front of you.
That’s why you don’t notice General Organa at first. Only when Thea nudges your side you throw her murderous gaze. She tilts her head and when you follow her gaze your gaze lands on General, standing next to your station, a small smile on her lips.
You jump onto your feet.
“G-general! I’m so sorry-“
“Oh, stop it, Y/N. You were doing your job. Anything worth mentioning?”
“No, just a fleet of merchants,” you say, although your voice is still a bit shaky. You take a quick glance at the radar. “It’s gone now, so nothing to worry about.”
“Good,” she nods. “But I’m here to give you a task. You probably heard that Finn is awake?”
You do your best to not look at Thea, who, by the way, is probably eavesdropping.
“I did, yes.”
“I want you to show him around the base, introduce him to everything. He will start training soon, but till then, I would like you to get him accustomed with the place.”
“Yes, sure.”
“Come to medical ward tomorrow morning. He should be in shape already,” she gives you a warm smile before leaving and you return on your seat, quite surprised. Out of all people in the base you were given a task to take care of the mysterious former stormtrooper? Why?
“I can’t believe it, you’re so lucky, Y/N,” Thea mutters and pouts, and you roll your eyes at her.
You make a mental note to meet her with that Finn guy before she can pester you too much about it.
______
The next day, as you were said, you’re on your way to the medical ward. You don’t feel anxious or scared. You’re curious about him, and, frankly, after hearing what Thea told you apart from the gossip, kind of excited to meet him.
He was a stormtrooper in the First Order and chose to join the Resistance, it’s not an everyday occurrence to be assigned to someone like that. Or to actually meet somebody like that, to be honest.
Only now it occurs to you what a responsible job it is. Yet, from General told you yesterday evening, Finn knew the basics, just needed to learn how to move around the base and such.
She also assured you that Finn would not be a bother. Hopefully!
You greet the nurses as you walk in, waving your hand at them. They know why you’re here and so one of them leads you to a bed at the furthest end of the room.
On it, with back turned to you, sits a rather tall, broad-shouldered man, dressed in all black. His hair is freshly trimmed and as you near the spot you can smell sandalwood. A nurse checking his vitals laughs at something he’s said and when she sees you, an odd grimace crosses her face.
Finn looks at you over his shoulder when you approach the bed.
“You’re Y/N?”
“Yes. General has already visited you?”
“She sure has. She’s been coming every two hours since I woke up.”
“And how do you feel?” you ask, genuinely concerned. He was badly injured and his recovery was quite long.
The nurse is done with the examinations, and leaves the two of you alone. Finn gives you a tight smile.
“My back still hurts,” he admits and you nod, not really knowing how to respond. “But overly, I’m fine. Ready to dive into the Resistance!”
You chuckle.
“Step by step. I will show you around, explain what each department does and then, from what I’ve heard, you are to start training. But till then, I’m afraid that you’re stuck with me.”
He grins, standing up.
“I don’t mind, Y/N. So, where do we head first?”
______
Although you thought the base would bore him to no end, Finn was eager to explore every part of it. He was enthusiastic, peeking his head into every room, walking into every hall with awe written on his face.
With every passing day you were fonder of him. He was kind-hearted, funny guy with a strong sense of just and didn’t mind when you asked him about his time in the First Order.
You saw it wasn’t easy for him to talk about it. Sure, his past wasn’t something one would brag about but he made a good decision to leave it behind and fight for the good cause. You were happy he joined in and that you were assigned to him.
During that time Finn and you became friends, more often than not hanging out even after you were supposed to part ways and get some rest. As you promised, you introduced him to Thea, who was practically fangirling over him, but Finn remained calm and gladly talked to her.
And Finn started to be the only thing she would babble about at work.
“Y/N, you can’t be that blind!”
“I can and apparently I am,” you say dismissively but you know she will carry on nonetheless. You got back to your regular work only yesterday, after Finn began his training.
“He literally makes puppy eyes at you, how can you not see it?”
“Because I am focused on my work?”
She snorts.
“You wouldn’t know that a guy was flirting with you, even if he stated it clearly.”
“Thea, Finn is not flirting with me.”
“Yeah, right. And those sparkles between you two are illusion, too? Everyone sees it.”
“Sees what, exactly?”
“You know… you and Finn getting lovey-dovey when you see each other…”
“Thea!”
“What? I’m just telling you the obvious!”
“I’m not getting lovey-dovey with Finn,” you mutter and glare at her but she only smiles teasingly.
Truth be told, you maybe do feel something else to Finn than sympathy. But only maybe. You still aren’t sure as to what precisely it is but yes, you think about Finn when he’s not around, although he’s your friend, of course you’re concerned!
Once, maybe twice you caught yourself staring at him when you walked pass the training room and he was there. But, again, you were worried – he was injured, what if he hurt himself by accident?
It didn’t mean you fell for him, right? Right?
You furrow your brows, hearing Thea sighing.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“I’m not upset, I’m thinking.”
“About Finn?” she sings and you let out an exasperated grunt.
“Thea, can you stop?!”
“Nope,” she laughs at your edginess, watching as you cover your face with your hands.
You open your mouth to say something to her but a cheerful voice cuts you off.
“Hi, stardust! Hi, Thea!”
“Hi, Finn,” Thea greets him and you slide your hands away from your face, meeting Finn’s gleeful eyes. You completely ignore Thea’s possible look at the nickname Finn gave you.
“I got my lightsaber!”
You clap your hands.
“That’s great! So you’re a proper member of Resistance’s fighters now?”
“Yes, I am! And I am now taking you for a walk.”
“Oh, is that so?” you tease and Finn clears his throat, straightening his back as he walks closer to your chair.
“Ma’am, may I ask for your company on a stroll?”
“Gladly!” you stand up and smooth your jacket, a wide grin appearing on your face. Just before you’re about to leave, you look at Thea with a question in your eyes.
“Go, I’ve got this,” she assures you and tosses you a wink.
You stick out your tongue at her and take Finn’s offered hand, walking out of the base.
Of course, there are people staring at you, well, at Finn to be precise. But you don’t feel intimidated or anxious about it. Steadily, you leave the base behind and walk into the surrounding jungle.
You glance at Finn. He remained silent, which was rather unlikely for him. His grip on your hand is tight and only now you realize that his palm is a bit clammy.
Suddenly, he turns to face you, making you stop abruptly.
“I gotta tell you something.”
“O-okay,” you mutter, knitting your brows in confusion. Finn inhales deeply and exhales sharply through his nose and purses his lips together before saying on one breath,
“I like you.”
“I like you, too, Finn.”
“No, Y/N, I like you,” he raises his brows meaningfully and nods his head slowly.
“I got it the first time, dummy,” you smile brightly as Finn’s eyes widen and his mouth falls open.
“So, uhm,” he regains his composure, his thumb brushing against your knuckles, “are you okay with being my girlfriend?”
“More than okay,” you move your hand away a little only to be able to entwine your fingers with his and Finn’s lips spread into an elated grin, so bright it almost blinds you.
Then, just as suddenly as he confessed, he leans in to press his lips to yours, absolutely surprising you.
But you love it. Everything with Finn has been surprising which only makes it this more exciting.
