Mini-Me
Short Lil’ Fin / Johanna ‘G’ rated story based on this prompt http://chizuu.tumblr.com/post/157448874338/consider-post-mockingjay-annie-and-finnicks-son
Un beta’d all mistakes mine- @chizuu thank you for this wonderful prompt. I hope I did it justice @xerxia31 ❤ Ur tag- I accept this a as Canon as well.
“Hey, Mini-me?” Johanna Mason turned around to see Finnick's’ son Fin standing by her desk. She’d heard his heavy steps as he ran through the house. Johanna hid her grin, as she beheld his beloved little face.
“Aunty Jo-Jo,” his bronze curls were limp against his forehead. Fin was the spitting image of his dad. Johanna moved to District Four with Annie to help the district, to help Annie, and also because she felt she owed Finnick for keeping her sane all those years she was in the Capitol doing Snow’s bidding.
“How was school?” She pulled him up to sit on her lap. He was in Kindergarten and everyday it was an adventure. Finnick was just as mischievous and playful as his father therefore the nickname Mini-me.
“Well, um-it was okay.”
“You look like it was pretty much more than just okay.” Johanna winked.
Fin smiled his sea-green eyes sparkling up at her much the way his dad’s did when he was excited. “Here,” Fin handed her the crumpled paper.
Johanna read, “Bring Your Dad To School.” Instantly she felt bad because Finnick was gone. She swallowed not knowing how to address this situation.
“Can you come to school, as my dad?”
Johanna was not ready for that to come out of Fin’s mouth. The emotional vortex of his words hit her like a cool wave on a hot day, and it caused her to get misty eyed. She hugged him, plastering him to her chest. She swallowed several times, his little arms went around her.
“Please, you’re the raddest Aunty Jo-Jo! You use an Axe, you ride the waves, you can run fast, you make mean chilly, and I lub you.”
Johanna wiped the tears that fell from her face, as his list of her virtues caused her heart to grow twice as big. Her voice was choked up as she let go of him to speak, “Of course I’ll be proud to go to school, as long as it’s alright with your mom?”
“COOL!” He jumped and down pumping his fist, just like she’d taught him. “MOM! MOM! SHE SAID YES!”
Annie stood by the door, her hand on her heart, her eyes wet with tears, she mouthed “Thank you.”
