Despite their affinity for fire, most fire druids don’t take joy in destruction. Many of them are also practiced in healing spells and are likely to spare their defeated foes if they believe they are no longer an immediate threat.
Quest Hooks
GMs who wish to use the fire druids in their adventures can use these plot hooks for inspiration.
Embertide Festival (Low Level). A circle of fire druids are holding a celebration called the Embertide Festival. A yearly ritual they perform to maintain the stability of a portal that leads to the plane of fire. The characters are invited to join in the festivities, partake in various activities and games, as well as a large feast.
At the end of the festival, several fire druids perform an ancient ritual to expel any excess energy from the portal so that it remains stable for the year to come. During this ritual, something goes wrong and the portal is opened, drawing in several fire druids and the characters. They must all work together if everyone is to make it out and back to the prime material plane together.
Cleansing Flame (Mid Level). A group of former fire druids who were exiled in disgrace have returned to seek vengeance against their old grove. These foes now wield their powers with reckless abandon and claim that their old home and its inhabitants must be cleansed and purified by the flame. The characters must first contend with a nearby forest fire that was started to distract the fire druids of the grove by summoning Fire Elementals. Helping stop the fire will save lives, including many fauna and flora of the forest, but it also gives the outcasts more time to reach the grove. Ignoring the fire to chase down the exiles puts more of the forest at risk, but stops them from furthering whatever plans they have for the druid grove.
Fight Fire With Fire (High Level). A group of fire druids have requested the aid of the characters in helping to investigate the cause of an inactive volcano erupting and threatening the entire region. Alongside a group of Fire Druid Elites they discover an Ancient Red Dragon has been slumbering in the caldera and has awoken. The characters must defeat the dragon while protecting the fire druids as they attempt a ritual to calm the volcano. The reach of the destruction that the volcano yields will be measured by their success.

Izin, a rogue fighter for freedom against the hostile dragons on the outskirts of an apathetic empire turned adventuring monster hunter. While at first the magic she gained from the harsh land she endured was only that of chilling ice and hard stone, the fire within her grows, burns away her past little by little. A Druid of the Mountains becomes a Druid of the Wildfire.
My Druid character for a D&D campaign I'm in! During a long hiatus from the game, our DM decided to let me change her from Circle of the Land (Mountain) subclass to Circle of the Wildfire. So far, I'm loving it.
