fire emblem!
fire emblem!
I cannot fucking wait for tomorrow! I'm finally gonna ask my crush out and I get to play fire emblem after school! Nothing could possibly fuck up tomorrow
Element 24 is husband material.
haha, it's fine! and that's true about the holy blood... i actually found second gen ridiculous too, because lakche+holy blood+inherited abilites was crazy, and yulia was UNSTOPPABLE with resire. and yeah, i just liked the substitute characters for, well, basically no reason rather than attachment. i really liked FE2 and FE8 also! FE2 just made me feel happy because it was so retro, haha.
I didn't finish FE2, lol... Maybe I should play it sometime. Celica is rad, though! Well. I think she is. FE8 inherited some mechanics from FE2, I know that.
Hehe, Resire. The sub characters weren't like...some people really hate on them, and I don't think they deserve that. It's just easier with the other characters, and I'm more attached to them, but the sub children aren't annoying or anything like that. (I think Laylea is beautiful, though...8D)
i've played 2, 4, and then 6-10, and i started 5 and 11 before i stopped, haha. my favorite is 4, even if it was reaaally tough. the second time i played it i decided to use the substitute characters because i really liked them... i ended up having to kill all the women in chapter 5 except fury... oops.
I found Fire Emblem 4 easy thanks to your party being small and ridiculously overpowered...but only because of their holy blood. Characters like Cuan would suck a lot without his heritage bonus, lol.
The second generation is harder, imo, because your main character needs battle exp for...well, experience + critical hits, but he sucks! When he gets his pony though, it's all better. Oh, and the Tyrfing, of course.
I loved that game though! I would love a visual remake + improved battle mechanics + longer gameplay, i.e. maybe having...grunts a la Advance Wars? I don't know. It would be interesting. I doubt they're interested in remaking Fire Emblem 4. Maybe the 5th game would be something that would appeal to American gamers? But it's also hard... So that might be a turn-off, too...
I found using the substitute characters in FE4...okay? It's harder because of the lack of inheritance, but other than that, they're okay. But I felt less...well, I just felt less for them, because they're not as integrated into the story as the other children. Well, people like Hawke (spelling?) and Linda are pretty important, if I remember, but other than that, I don't know. The important kids, like Aless/Ares, or Athena, or Leaf are preserved, though, so I gues it's not that big of a deal!
Gah, sorry for such a convoluted answer...
