Mickey is out of juvie, but Terry still breathes down his neck. Ian wants more than casual hook-ups. After a weapons run out of town, Mickey realizes that being away from Ian is the safest option, even if it breaks his heart.

This reimagining of canon events weaves a new path filled with pining and reunions set against the backdrop of The Windy City Gun Show. With Mickey perpetually on the road and Ian alone at home, will they always find their way back to each other?

So I'll be 29 here in a few days and I was just diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and I'm just....really anxious?? I knew something was going wrong, I've been knowing. It's been bad...really bad (although this past month has seen improvement) but I didn't expect THIS? On one hand, I'm like 'okay, well, now we know what we're dealing with, and it's going to be okay, and there's nothing wrong with feeling upset and afraid, just move forward' And on the other I'm a literal shaking mess feeling so self-conscious, so distraught, so shocked, it's like I'm walking into a building with a big flashy neon sign that reads 'PANIC! AT THE NIKKI' and the only thing inside the building is a duplicate version of myself crying hysterically. My dad is mentally ill. His sister, his brother, mother, grandmother, cousin. All severely mentally ill. I suppose I was foolish to spend so many years thinking I 'wasn't as bad as them', or had 'escaped' a painful family legacy of psychological struggle. I'm also not sure why I'm posting this. But it helps, somehow....so I am.

Being an even slightly lucid USAmerican is one of the most maddening experiences. You can point to as many historical records and current events detailing the exact extent of the US's moral bankruptcy and long trails of blood throughout the global south and you'll be met with the dead-eyed stare of somebody unable to overcome the decades of "USA = Epic Based Freedom Land". At BEST the other person might look down in shame before blaming "X Conservative Political Movement" or Trump before going into a long-winded tirade about how the US is better than this (it isn't.)

An entire country filled with those willfully ignorant enough to intentionally look past the engine of destruction and extraction because it gives them cheap treats. There is no moral fiber to attempt to tug at in the USAmerican, only an unending hunger for the blood of those they deem lesser.
