I killed nerubians until the nerubian cave was nerfed. (Pelagos isn't judging them so much as he's judging me)

Then I killed bees. So many bees. I hope the firelands enjoys all the elemental bees I sent their way.

Firelands! This raid is probably one of my favorite raids to do because it offers so many mounts through drops/achievements and also has one of the coolest looking transmogs, easily, on all classes. Let’s start with The Corrupted Firehawk.

The Corrupted Firehawk is a beautiful purple-colored flame hawk that you get from finishing the achievement list “Glory of the Firelands Raider” which has 12 achievements on the list. All of them are easily soloable except for “Only the Penitent”. That achievement you will need at least one other person to help you with. It’s changed over the years where you used to have to have about 6 people I believe? Anywho, since then it’s been increasingly easier to get this achievement finished. If you aren’t sure how to do this, there are videos and forums that will show you (if you are more of a visual person). If you can follow along here, I’ll start with numero uno:

1. Grab a friend and defeat all bosses up until Majordomo (across the bridge after defeating Baleroc, The Gatekeeper.)

2. Both of you /kneel as soon as you reach the other side of the bridge.

3. Target the NPC who is casting “Kneel to the Flame”.

4. After each “Kneel to the Flame” is cast, immediately get up and run as far forward as you can, each play trying to reach the fire globes on either side of the platform. Typically, we would run until half-cast and then kneel, wait for cast to go off again, run til half-cast and repeat until you reach the globes.

5. Once you both reach the globes, you both have to press them at the exact same time. If you do not click them within that same one-sec time frame, you will have to start over and reset the dungeon. You will have 10 resets per hour, but it’s highly unlikely you won’t get it within those 10 tries if you are in sync.

6. Voila! Last achievement is met and you will have your Corrupted Firehawk in your bag instantly! Congrats nerd! :D

NOW, on to the harder ones. These next two mounts have about a 1% drop rate. In my case, it was about half that. It took me about a years worth of non-stop Firelands runs to get both of these, but when they did drop, I got them both in the same day (lucky me)

Flametalon of Alysrazor is a really interesting bird mount as it does not fly. This particular mount drops off of Alysrazor, that big beautiful flame ball that tries to kill you ;-P The fight is really easy, and if you are fast enough, you’ll get the achievement “Do a Barrell Roll”. So folks, remember, this is only a ground mount BUT it is a unique ground mount so shake those tailfeathers!

Pureblood Firehawk on the other hand IS a flying mount and my goodness it is terrifying and glorious in the same breath. This one drops off of Ragnaros, the very last fight of the Firelands raid. So if you’re looking for a quick in-and-out, this mount ain’t for ya! No special tactics to this fight, just kill Rags like the POS that he is and get yourself a flamey-flighty-terror-hawk!
