Claude (Khalid) and Shahid’s dynamic essentially. I wish Shahid’s character was fully developed because he’s just such a one note villain and it’s boring and doesn’t make for compelling character drama or writing.
I drew this piece in the style of Chowder because I thought it would be dumb to juxtapose Shahid’s unfiltered and unjust aggression towards Khalid with an art style that’s colorful and exaggerated. I could have pushed the drawings a little further, but I still like what I’ve done. The design I gave for Claude’s baby Wyvern is lowkey adorable.
Also, considering Chowder’s character designs are known for having static patterns, I decided to give Claude an ancient Achaemenid royal one for his head-wrap (that somewhat resembles a chafiyeh, shemagh, or kufiyah) and Shahid a termeh- which is a luxury fabric produced in Iran (the country that Almyra mostly is inspired by along with Türkiye and Syria).
