Howl's Moving Castle (full colour comic), Kanata no Astra, Fire Tripper (one-shot comic from the series 'Rumic World' short stories collection) & Chrono Crusade

I get a lot of questions about my copy of Fire Tripper (1989). This is a comic originally licensed by 'VIZ select' back in the late 80's. Fire Tripper is Rumiko Takahashi's first short story from the series 'Rumic World' and is said to be a pilot to Takahashi-sensei's popular manga series, InuYasha.

"A gas explosion sends high school girl Suzuko and toddler Shuu 500 years into the past to Feudal Japan. But she lost Shuu on the way, and as a result, Shuu ended up in the past 10 years before her, and is 15 years old when Suzuko finally arrives in Feudal Japan".

I highly recommend reading Fire Tripper if you are a fan of Inuyasha! ❤️

Rumiko Takahashi’s FireTripper 1986

Yes, all the characters seen here are all the same people. The little boy in the red striped shirt becomes the warrior, the little girl in the pink robe becomes the modern school girl.

Suzu was adopted into Shu’s family in the Feudal Era, and in the Modern Era, baby sat him for her neighbor and took care of him (as her “little brother”, since technically it’s her big adoptive brother but younger, ironically), and Shu adopted Suzu as his little sister. They fall in love when they meet each-other as adults, finding out each-others identities and realize it’s okay for them to get married because they aren’t blood related. They both live in the Feudal Era together. It is very similar to her other work, Inu-Yasha. Talk about a confusing time paradox. I still love this one anyway. The “applecitus” part is funny.

Suzuko goes by “Suzu”, which means “Bell”, Suzuko means “Bell Child” Shukumaru was born in the Modern era as “Shuhei” and went by “Shu”

In Inu-Yasha Wide Edition Volume 3 - Rumiko Takahashi says she used her older work FireTripper when creating Inu-Yasha.

In Yashahime Towa was sent back during a fire.
