If you are anywhere near Oklahoma City or have to go there for some ungodly reason, this First Americans Museum is a must. Its a gem in the wasteland. Beautiful modern displays about the history of indigenous people, the atrocities like the trail of tears which settlers wrought against them and explanations of their cultures. Did I mention the food? Every american should go and learn and see real history instead of the watered down narrative most museums sell you.

This is your reminder that if you are too weak, too fragile, too disabled, too upset, too poor, or too vulnerable to protest - that it is completely acceptable!

If you are able bodied and safe and capable, we need you out there protesting and keeping each other safe.

If you cannot, stay inside and be a safe haven for those who can. Communicate your haven. Be a sanctuary. Or... simply be safe. Protect yourself from the violence happening outside.

WE are what matters. Not our jobs, our money, our labor - PEOPLE. We are priceless. We are paramount. We are the reason to keep going - to protect WHO WE ARE!

Go out there and do something - if you can - about our immigrant siblings! Save them from the clutches of tyranny! Protect their right to exist as they would protect yours!

Potawatomi to reclaim tribal land in DeKalb County

More than 175 years after their reservation in Illinois was illegally sold at auction, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is now in line to

I live on Potawatomi heritage land, and have always felt guilt about it. First People were rounded up and forced to remove to what is now Oklahoma. This act is a step in the right direction in returning land to the original owners. I hope to do the same upon my passing.

The Potawatomi removal was known as the Trail of Death. It's not to be confused with the Cherokee removal called the Trail of Tears. Both were horrific, ripping families off the lands of their ancestors, so white settlers could take over.

These forced removals were deadly, unnecessary, and shameful blights on U.S. history.
