Excuse my no make up and hyperventilating but… after 5 years without contraception FINALLY we are pregnant !!!

The scan went great!! The 5 dots over her face is her fingertips ❤ They put me two days ahead! So I am now 12+4 with an EDD that says September 14th! That is Renés birthday! It would be crazy to deliver on that day 😍 Everything went great! The heartbeat was 165 BPM and she measured 62 mm. I still don't know if it's a girl, but I keep saying she. It's better than 'it' - and in Danish "them/they" doesn't really work that way.

4,5 hours until my 12 week scan.

I am still nervous, even though I’ve seen life plenty of times! I hope I get a good picture, so I’ll be able to do the “skull shape” thing to predict if it’s a boy or a girl. Because that sure must be the best way to do that

Afterwards René and I will be going to the mall. I think we might visit his mother afterwards to tell her. I also cannot wait to show you the flower decoration I am making my grandmother to tell her I’m pregnant! And by “I am making” I mean “I pay a flower lady to make”.

There’s really someone in there

The scan went great! Due to my delayed ovulation, I estimated that I would be 6+6 today. The scan agreed on that!

My gynecologist was someone I’ve worked with I the ER - she’s so sweet and caring and I couldn’t be happier. She said the spotting could be from the increased blood flow and that I shouldn’t worry.

We even saw the heart beating away! I was thankful the light was out, because I shed a tear.

All in all. I just feel like my soul have been warmed. Is that weird?

I tried to scan myself yesterday. It went rather horrible. I'm a terrible sonographer. It ended up making me more worried because I couldn't seem to find the heartbeat in the few moments i could actually see something. At some point I think I saw movement, though - and for sure the fetus bigger than it was 2 weeks ago. Pro tip: don't scan yourself I know I'll try in the weekend again though. I'll try to get a picture then.

Okay. I'm a little nervous about the scan today. Both because I am going to have a colleague looking up in my vagina (gyn doctors have patients in the ER, too) but also because my boyfriend is going to be a spectator to my GU (I know a childbirth is messier - but still) and lastly I'm nervous about the result of the scan. Also, I just realized that GU probably isn't what it's called in English. But who cares.

Tomorrow is our first trimester scan. ..

I can't wait! I hope we get to see little bean real well.
