X, Sex And Dying in High Society from Los Angeles (April 26, 1980).

A couple of days ago was the 40th anniversary of the release of Los Angeles, the X debut album. For anyone interested, X is offering an anniversary package, available at BandCamp, of reissues of Los Angeles, Wild Gift, Under The Big Black Sun, More Fun In The New World, and the Adult Books/We’re Desperate 7″  https://xtheband.bandcamp.com/album/los-angeles .

I already have Los Angeles, Wild Gift and Under The Big Black Sun, but I bought it anyway because I can’t help myself.

On April 22nd, X released it’s first new album in 35 years: Alphabetland, also available now at BandCamp  https://xtheband.bandcamp.com/album/alphabetland .

The record won’t ship until August, but the digital download is immediately available. I liked the album. It has their sound. There is a real nostalgic feel to the music. It’s like they’re reminiscing about the band they were, I guess, instead of becoming something new. The album is definitely fun, especially if you’re a fan, but, without sounding like too much of an asshole, I’d still rather listen to the music they made when they actually were who they were. That has more to do with the raw energy of their sound when they were a first wave band, though, than the quality of the music on this album.

It has a different cover than the States. It's a drawing of Alex with a derby and the spider eye makeup. Can you send it to my Mom's for me? Thanks. Your tapes are on the way.
