The first two weeks in your relationship with Sebastian brought sweet little kisses, a lot of giggles, occasional handsiness, many cuddles and slowly growing passion into your relationship.
Now, after your first time with him, the next one month just brought unspeakable amount of passion and need. He needed you and you craved him in every second, and oh god, both of you were willing to give into these sweet urges at any time. During this one month he was practically more time inside of you than not. You couldn’t help it. You couldn’t keep your hands of off each other.
A new life in another city, early mornings in hotels, a dream party: Just Indie Comics presents three stories by Polish cartoonist Anna Krztoń, who has published her comics in magazines as “Stripburger”, “Ink Brick”, “Dirty Diamonds”, “C’est Bon”
As this first week draws to a close…
May you collapse into the knowledge that you made it. May you rest in the realization that you did, and you can, do this. May you find comfort in the confession that you are glad it’s Friday. May you pass into the peace that, yes, you have definitely got this. Maybe not completely. Maybe not perfectly. But, yes, you’ve got this.
May your weekend rest be…
So, if there’s one thing that I read online about Regina that is true, it’s the wind! It really seems to always be windy. While the first week was a nice warm summer and the wind just a nice addition to the heat, the wind is now turning to be chillier. It seems to me like fall is catching up with Regina.
In the meantime the second week of classes ends today. So far, I love my classes — the professors are great and the topics even better. Still, I am glad that I am only taking three classes. That way the workload is manageable and I, for once, don’t feel like I am completely drowning in assignments. I am taking one first year and two third year classes which also feels like a good mix. The third year classes remind me of our classes at home in content, structure, and requirements. While that is also true for the first year class, I also feel like it is going back to the basics more than I did in my academic writing class at home. But I actually think that this is a good thing since it’s always worth to refresh basic writing skills.
Apart from first classes, welcome week was also a thing. That’s not a very good sentence to start a paragraph with but still, it sums up what was going on. There were tons of events on campus: live music, an outdoor movie night, a campfire evening on Willow Island (in the nearby Wascana lake), booths of various societies and clubs and companies; there were free mini donuts (!!!) and also a week of special events in our residence, and of course international orientation. So, it’s been some busy two weeks of which I try to put together some photos to share in a different post.
On another note, I can also confirm another description which I found online: Saskatchewan really is flat. Yesterday, we went to Saskatoon to attend SaskExpo! It’s a fanexpo and considering that I will miss this year’s comic-con at home, I’m just glad I got to do something like it. The drive there was about two and a half, maybe three hours long. To me, that felt like an awfully long drive to go somewhere but as I learnt that’s not too far in Canadian terms. Which makes sense, after all, Canada is so much larger than Germany. At least I got a sense of what Saskatchewan looks like outside of Regina: farmland, scattered groups of houses here and there, and an incredible, endless, and beautiful view into the distance.
The best part about the whole trip? An autograph by John Rhys-Davies (who misspelled my name, but that’s fine, he knew how to pronounce it after all). I have expected him to be as nice and kind as he was. I did not expect him to be as hilarious and funny as his panel turned out to be. He appears to be a genuinely kind and compassionate person with an amazing sense of humor. So, this was definitely an awesome end to the second week of classes. Now I should start working on essays, I guess…
Sorry for the delay with this post, we have had some crazy couple of weeks. I’ll try to keep posting new posts more often ;-).
I can’t believe it has already has been over 3 weeks since I left Holland. The days and weeks have just flown by. A lot of things have happened, or didn't happen, there has been a lot of sun and even some rain. We actually got rained on walking back from the metro station one night, and even got completely soaked coming back form Global Village. But let’s start at the beginning.....
I have had an amazingly flight, being used to flying with some cheaper airlines, flying with emirates has been really wonderful. Enough space for your legs, nice meal and every hour or so, drinks and snacks were offered. The plane landed around midnight at DXB, Dubai International Airport. After taking a bus for over 30 minutes (because we landed at a far, far away lane) we got to the gate. When you walk through the airport you realize you are definitely some where in Arabia, everywhere you look their are people women dressed in black abaya and men in white thobe. The first time in Dubai last September I was really surprised about all the different types and different ways to were the traditional clothing.
After spending an hour in line waiting for the passport check, luckily they opened another desk. The randomly selected some people who could stand in line there, including me, and from there on everything went very smoothly and after 3 weeks I was reunited with my husband. The next week we spent in a hotel near Dubai WTC which was next to a metro stop. This gave me the opportunity to use the metro to get to Dubai Mall and have a look around.
We used the weekend to look at an apartment and arranging things with the bank. For the first time ever Adriaan cashed in a cheque and wrote several to pay for the rent for the upcoming year. The next week between Adriaan his work were spent moving to the apartment, getting everything fixed; some temporary furniture (our stuff will arrive halfway through April), water delivery, gas delivery, internet (what would you do without it), buying groceries, getting a car lease, arranging my resident visa, etc.
We have also starting enjoying the Dubai life, everything is opened until midnight so going out to diner, walking around, having brunches (lovely friday tradition), shopping and just having fun. We also started trying to get fit again, we have a gym in the apartment with all the equipment you need. Adriaan has also started swimming in the mornings before work and will start with waterpolo again pretty soon.
There are so many more stories to tell, this is a just a small summary. I will try to post more detailed stories in the coming weeks.
