Lips followed the line of neck, leaving a darkening claim of bites in his wake as he trailed down, down, down. Auburn curls flew as Bea’s head thumped back against the wall,. Hands automatically rose to press against peach-painted lips. She tried to stifle every little noise, every whimper, every desperate whine that threatened to fall.

Tommy was having none of it.

Ringed fingers tugged at hers, pinning her wrists neatly at the small of her back.

“If this is the only time I get to call you mine, I want everything. Don’t hold back, luv. Let me hear you.”

The box arrived mid-afternoon, wrapped in honest-to-god silk of all things. Peach-painted lips pressed into a firm line, her jaw tightening. “Alexei! This better not be what I think it is.”

Footsteps padded closer. Alexei leaned against the door frame, hands tucked into his pockets. “You haven’t even seen it yet.”

“I don’t need jewellery to know how much you care for me,” she said, missing the little flinch that passed across Alexei’s face. Her eyes fell back to the gift as she gingerly began to open it. Silence fell between them. A laugh startled from her chest. 

“Really?” In her hand, she held up a diamond-encrusted pen, eyeing it as if it might bite. “Tell me these aren’t real.” 

Doe eyes widened as Alexei’s lips quirked into a lopsided little smile. He crossed the room in moments, calloused fingers tilting her chin up, lips capturing hers in a kiss that lingered just long enough to make her heart stutter, soft yet claiming, leaving a shiver trailing down her spine.

“You are worth every penny.”
