I found out last night I'm pregnant! According to my estimate I just hit 4 weeks this morning! All of those baby fever fics finally got me 😂😂🥰🥰💙🩷

Maternity Leave

I am so excited to say that a past Kinder teacher has agreed to take on my maternity leave as my sub. Not only does she have experience teaching Kinder but she also previously taught with 2/3 teammates that I currently teach with. She left the classroom to help her husband open a business and to spend a few years at home with her youngest one before she started school, but this year her youngest is old enough to start Pre-K a few days a week and she decided to use those days to sub. For some reason, her circumstances have changed and she is looking to working full time and will be taking on my maternity leave. I am so excited to have someone who I trust, who knows how to run a classroom, AND how to teach to be taking over my classroom. 

My last teammate that had a baby had a sub who could manage the class (kind of) but we watched as the academics slipped by the wayside. When she came back she had plenty of time to get her kids back up to speed academically but I was not looking forward to having to make up for lost time or for my teammates to have to shoulder some of that burden as they helped my sweet little’s settle into school since I’ll be leaving at the beginning of the school year. 

All-in-all I know I’m very lucky to have someone so amazing to cover my class and most other teachers don’t get that lucky but to know I’ll be able to be at home, not worried about any aspect of teaching and getting to enjoy my first few weeks as a mom is worth so much more than I’ll ever be able to articulate.
