Day 31/31 of #firstmothoftheyear And so, this little project ends on my birthday with a drawing! I had a lot of fun trying to show a little piece of art or a WiP daily (couldn't make it daily, but still close to it!) and I tried out a lot of new art mediums that I wasn't comfortable working with yet. Day 30/31 of #firstmothoftheyear is a freestanding American painted lady Butterfly! It reminds me of the butterflies we had in our yard when I was younger. But those were Small Tortoiseshells though (which we call "small foxes" in German). Still pretty similar 😃 Talking about when I was younger, it's my birthday tomorrow! Well, kinda today, but tomorrow starts when I wake up 👀 So #firstmothoftheyear will end on my birthday, which wasn't intended, but very nice! Day 28/31 of #firstmothoftheyear is brought to you by this freestanding Blue Triangle Butterfly! I didn't want to go with a dark brown this time and tried out something different. Not sure if I like the body like this, but the wings look very beautiful. Even if they're not really accurate now 😅 Maybe I should try black again next time. The background for the picture was my wonderful boyfriend's first acrylic pouring. Day 28/31 of #firstmothoftheyear is my second attempt at Acrylic Pouring which is drying atm! Still trying to find the right mixture to use as a background 😅 It's too orange for what I was originally going for and it's hard to get the right consistency for the neon paint, since it's already a little liquid but not enough.. Day 25/31 of #firstmothoftheyear Who doesn't like a good ol' Death's-Head Hawkmoth? 😄 Back to needlefelting it is! This one actually was a record, I made this moth in about 4 hours. The antennae look different in size, but the right one actually bend a bit down while I took the pictures 😅 I really like how it turned out! I especially love the colours, even though it's not a "colourful" moth.
