Checking the front door and walls in the morning to see moths are becoming one of my favourites. All of these are just taken this morning. I spotted at least 3 of each species today. When I get a chance to sit down, I’m definitely going to research about these bad boys, at least learn what they are.

Still chipping away at my latest painting in progress, but here's a look at this little guy I added in today.

Cyana is a genus of moths 🦋 in the family Erebidae. Palpi slender and upturned. Antennae ciliated. Forewing of the male with a more or less strongly developed fringe of hair from the centre of costa on upperside and lobe on underside, which much distorts the sub-costal nervures. Vein 5 absent in male. Vein 6 usually absent in female. Veins 7 to 9 stalked. Hindwing with veins 3 and stalked. I'd say I have an unhealthy moth/ butterfly obsession🦋🐛

Also we started doing up our garden in our spare time and as we were pulling up the weeds, I found 3 cinnebar moth caterpillars which are now in chrysalis'. When they emerge they will be bright red and black. Not all moths are ugly🤣
