First User Testing & Meeting with Graham
We finished our prototype in which we are all very proud of. Proud of the amount of work we put in and the team work ethic and of course how the final prototype has turned out. After we finished our initial prototype and decided on the interaction that we wanted to incorporate, we thought it would be a good idea to take a run up to Aberdeen and show our main user (Will’s Dad) our concept / design and gather his thoughts and advice on how we could improve our idea. He was impressed with the work we had done so far but had a few small criticisms, he thought the keys in the box were far too large, also that the opening / closing of the prototype could be changed not so square and to make it better looking.
We took on board all of his ideas and decided to incorporate them in our project our next step was to re-design our box and make it a lot more aesthetically pleasing for the user and allow us to create a better concept / design. We had arranged a meeting with graham to evaluate our concept and get feedback on our idea, this meeting was between Graham / Andrea ourselves and 3 other project groups this allowed us to gather feedback on what we should do with our design.
We attended our critique and the general feedback was , we had focused too much on the user and not let our own designs flourish. As a group we thought it would be a good idea to go back the drawing board and re-evaluate the concept concentrating less on our user and designing something we would like to do. We sat down as a group and had a brainstorming session, which would hopefully lead us on to a new path and hopefully show what we are capable of designing.
