hii i was gonna type this out in the replies but it got too long ☠️ but your tags ahh!! I realised during my reread that most of the time when Bryde talks to ronan via dreams it’s almost always when ronan is dreaming/thinking about adam? The first time they talk was directly after ronan thinking about who he would be in cambridge if he moved to be with adam (playing into his insecurities), ronan thinking about feeding adam tomatoes while bryde is trying to put put forward his revolutionary agenda etc. I think bryde understands that the thing about ronan (and dreamers in general) is that much of their insecurities come from isolation. If they’re isolated they can easily be manipulated. But ronan has this entire support system and i think the end of cdth was a creepily clever plan by bryde to completely isolate ronan and hennessey from the people who can turn to them and say “oh this guy is clearly evil wyd!” bcos adam was kinda already there! idk if that made sense but i completely agree with what you said about bryde being the one to bring the end of the world!
yes exactly !!!!!! i felt weird about bryde from the beginning because the whole ~ showing up in ronan’s dreams uninvited ~ thing felt gross since ronan’s dreams are like his safest space, and then the murder crab thing definitely felt like sabotage on bryde’s part (i have SO many thoughts on why bryde was behind the murder crabs don’t get me started) and it’s just like over the course of the book he gets pushier, he gets more manipulative, and he definitely takes advantage of how much ronan and hennessy want and need a community of dreamers or at least a sort of mentor. and i think he definitely knows that adam and jordan in particular would be able to see through his whole act because they aren’t invested in him as a dreamer, they’re invested in ronan and hennessy as people, and they don’t have the bias in bryde’s favor that ronan and hennessy have. so of course he would separate ronan and hennessy from their support systems!!!! i think a lot of “ronan is bryde” theories bring up good points but i just can’t get behind them on the principle that like.... ronan wouldn’t do a lot of this stuff to himself, to another dreamer, to adam and his brothers........... i definitely think bryde has a connection to ronan that we don’t know about yet (i have So Much to Say about mstief’s ronan is bryde’s _____ spoiler in the sand picture) but like..... i don’t think he’s ronan and i really really Do Not Want Him To Be
