First Time Experiences: Two-Jobs, Hosting, Chicken heads, Insurance, and Oh My!
It has been some time since I last wrote. I believe I took the hiatus initially because my thoughts had run dry and I wasn't sure what to say. There had been no 'first time experiences' worth mentioning or noting-- at least to me. This time, it's different. There's so much stuff, I don't even know where to begin.
Two-Jobs: Yes, I am taking on two jobs at once. Granted, one is my very first corporate American job. The other one is me 'tutoring'-- I use this term loosely because it's more of me being paid to do her work. Whatever. Money is money. I ain't arguing. I do teach her some things though in the process so all is not lost. It's been easy to manage, for the most part-- except for this week. All hell seems to have broke loose this week past. I am still recovering from much of it and luckily the recovery is rather quick. Still, I fear I will not be able to complete her assignments in time. I suppose I can only do my best.
Hosting: So I've been upgraded from a vato to now an official seater/host. I escort people's happy/unhappy asses to a booth and tell their bitch asses to enjoy, damn straight. Okay, "gangstah talk" aside, it is my job to guide them to their designated seats, make conversation, and try to liven them up. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I do what I can though and try to be as chipper as I can. Other times I find myself wanting to beat their asses for havin' a stick up the hoo-has and wa-hoos. C'est l'vie.
I'm still making quite a few mistakes but I know I'll get it right in time. I tend to have really rough starts before things start going smoothly (that's what she said).
Chicken Heads: Yep, there be some motha' fuckin' chicken heads at work but that's to be expected given it is where a lot of human beings gather-- some of which are the least appreciative of what they've been offered as far as work. The chicken heads I speak of are mostly just teenagers, all under the age of 21 so it's no wonder they be cluckin'. Teenage woes and hoes-- talking about things like home coming, prom, and co-workers. I'm the only 20 somethin' year old host. Granted, my boyish looks make me fit in nicely in the pod of teenagers. I don't know if that's entirely a good thing though. I want to look like a manly man, not a... boy. Ah well. Maybe I'll look like a man in time.
As soon as I recover from my leg injury and get some more time to do shit. *Grumbles.*
Insurances: Yeah, it's my very first time purchasing insurance. Wicked sweet. I got Dental, Vision, and Basic Health Coverage (the latter by accident). I, for some reason, thought the Basic Health Coverage thing was something I had to pay in order to get the Dental/Vision. It isn't-- which is good in a way. Bad though in the sense where it costs me 20 somethin' bucks every week to pay for it. Eeehhh... Oh well. It'll expire in November. Maybe there will be a reason I need it.
So those are the updates. Whew! I'm wicked tired and I still need to work on her assignments tomorrow.
Hoo my gerd, it's Thursday already!? Where did the time go!?
