I really don’t understand how people can be socially liberal but fiscally conservative. Do people not realize that these things are tied together? That a lot of oppression is due to lack of resources or accessibility? If you think you have accomplished something all by yourself, I promise you, that you most likely didn’t. You literally and figuratively can not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You think you got that job all by yourself? Someone had to give it to you. You opened that business all by yourself? Someone had to sell you things and give you money to get you where you are today. Someone had to build those roads. Someone created the resources and the opportunity for you to get to where you are today. Someone taught you the skills to get what you have today. Not everyone has that access, education, or resources to accomplish what you have. Some of it comes down to luck, privilege, help from others, and yes, self action. But don’t think for a second that it’s all your work. Don’t forget who helped you get you to where you are.
The Washington Post has an interesting analysis report of how Donald Trump spent his first month in office. The results, while unsurprising, are not pretty. Just check out this chart they made. They make it very clear that these are estimates...
