This sculptural home in Berkeley, California was designed by architect Eugene Tssui, for his parents. It’s referred to as “The Eye of the Sun” house, but Eugene calls it the Fish House.

He calls it The Fish House, b/c the inspiration was the Tardigrade, an indestructible microscopic sea creature. The home was built from recycled materials, and is meant to withstand earthquakes.

Very swirly living room. I don’t now, but maybe you could stash some chips in those holes?

There aren’t any stairs, b/c it’s more of a ramp, but you can sit or lounge around on floor pillows on the way up.

The kitchen is surprisingly tight. I would’ve expected a little more room.

There’s a small office for two.

Custom made round window shades.

One of 2 bedrooms- this one has built-in shelving.

A bath. (Despite it’s safety, his parents have since sold it and moved out.)
