A few days ago I saw something that really made me think about the future of human artists and to put some questions to myself..
I slowly understand ( I couldn't say I totally accept, because I don't ) that AI "art" is slowly getting into everything, slowly pushing out the real life (human) artists, leaving them without jobs and crashing whole carreers & lives into pieces..
I would lie if I'd say that my dreams about becoming a full-time artist once in the future are not being shattered by this phenomena. Why? Because an artist gives away decades of his/her life to properly learn to create art, to practice for becoming a good designer or illustrator, game artist etc. and now? Programs of high intelligence come and learn everything in just a few days / hours, creating masterpieces that the mass will blindly fall for. Masterpieces, right, but without a soul..
And even if we might be able to get over the fact that artists loose their jobs, because they are replaced with prompters who can't even draw a sketch of an idea.. of course, why would they need to? The AI will create something out of a few keywords just in a few seconds.. why would we waste days of precious time on brainstorm, teamwork and creation? This is how so many companies see the advantages of the AI technology..
I don't say it does not have some advanteges, of course it does, but it's a nothing in comparison of the damage it does.
But what was that ultimate thing that upset me the most?
Art galleries.. Yes, seeing an AI "artist" preparing her works for a gallery exhibition. How can an art gallery consider digitally generated images acceptable artworks for an exhibotion? So many of us never get the chance to exhibit their work because they are "not good enough" or "not unique enough" for an exhibition..
Than let me put the question: is AI art so unique, so precious that human artists deserve being pushed away and replaced? Putting all your heart and soul into an artwork, spending days & nights creating something you imagine means nothing from now on? If something pleases the eye, than nothing else matters?
Thank you all AI supporters for ruining our future, for shattering our dreams of once becoming an aknowledged artist, of standing beside our artwork in a gallery or singing our artbook in a small book coffee.. in a few months nobody will ever be interested in our creations..
I am and will always say NO to AI ART..
