Meet Vala Arnadottir in Edmonton

If you are in the Edmonton area and have some time on your hands this weekend why not pop over to the Edmonton Boat and Sportsman show and visit Angling iQ ambassador Vala Arnadottir. She will be at booth 332 with Lax-A angling club and she can show you all about probably the best fishing app there is, Angling iQ. Oh and she’ll also be able to tell you all about fishing in Iceland. 

Vala is on Angling iQ of course (as should you) and her profile name is @vala. Follow her fishing adventures there and to know more about the app drop by booth 332 at the Edmonton Boat and Sportsman show.

Invite your Facebook friends

Angling iQ combines a fishing diary/logbook and social media for like minded individuals to share their passion for fishing. But if you are not following anyone on Angling iQ and no one is following you the social aspect is clearly not there. 

When you sign up we suggest a few interesting users to follow but it’s always fun to interact with friends and fishing buddies. We have now implemented an “Invite your Facebook friends” feature in the app. Now we understand not everyone is on Facebook but it’s a first step. 

To invite your Facebook friends simply go to your profile and click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the screen. That opens up your settings and there you will see an option labelled “Invite friends”. Use this option to send an invitation to your fishing buddies on Facebook. Be sure to let them know your username so they can easily follow your profile.

Going fishing!

The fishing season has now closed in Iceland but that does not mean our crew is ready to stop fishing for 6 months. It’s now time to hit the tropics for some saltwater action on our annual trip down to Punta Allen Mexico. 

This time around our ambassador Vala Arnadottir will be going as well and the trip will be documented on Angling iQ. Sometimes dubbed the permit capital of the world, Ascension Bay offers great fishing for Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Snook and Jack Crevalle to name a few. It’s a great place to start your saltwater experience, got to know the tactics and have fun.
