Proper shoulder mobility is something that unfortunately a lot of folks lack, 'halos' are a great movement that will help with mobility and stability of the shoulder and scapula. Halos can be done with a variety of tools, here we see a single arm halo using an Indian club, the movement has the same focus but the tool will place different demands that the shoulder/scapula need to stabilize and control. ⠀ ⠀ Demo by: @gfunctional⠀ ・・・⠀ SHOULDER SERIES: CLUB HALO⠀ ⠀ This little baby has been my bread and butter over the last couple of months. Once again, inspired by weight plate or kettlebell Halos. ⠀ WHEN PERFORMING:⠀ 🔹️Spine ⬆️, chin tucked and don't let your body weight shift (feel your feet).⠀ 🔹️Spiral the arm inward toward midline, then raise your arm overhead with the club head pointed downward. Reach your elbow towards the roof and make your armpit as big as possible (sounds weird, I get it). This should light up serratus ant, upper trap and a few other buddies.⠀ 🔹️When lowering, initiate the downward movement with the scap. You will now be taking it from it's highest position, down to the lowest (back and down).⠀ 🔸️In the 1st version, keep the arm pressed and rotated back. The path of the scap is easiest here, it rotates downwardly ⤵️ into the "Back and down" position. Dont let the elbow tip back.⠀ 🔸️2nd variation is a bit harder to pull off. The weight being in front of the body places a bit more stability demand on the scap. STILL, Keep the shoulder spiralled outwardly while the arm descends (elbow in, hand out) and don't let the scap tilt up as the arm is lowering. Think of pulling your Scap around your ribcage ↪ SLOWLY into the "Back and Down" shoulder blade garage.⠀ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••⠀ Looking for health & fitness professionals, information, tips, advice?
