how it feels trying to explain to people that i believe the relationship between ginger and brigitte in ginger snaps is inherently borderline incestuous due to the extremely intense, toxic, and codependent nature of it HOWEVER we, the viewer, are supposed to acknowledge that it’s highly toxic, and we are not supposed to root for it BUT we shouldn’t ignore it in discussions of the film because it’s a core theme and helps to serve as almost a cautionary tale for that level of codependency on another person and in sibling relationships that is intended to make the viewer feel uncomfortable and gross because you’re supposed to condemn it while trying to really really REALLY hammer home the fact that i do not support incest nor do i romanticize it im simply reading into the subtext of the film
