ABC’s Fitzroy Diaries
Ever listen or read something and then feel sick with envy because you know in your heart you will never create anything that good?
That’s how I feel about the Fitzroy Diaries. I binged the whole season in September and still think about it a couple times a week, six months later.
There’s not much out there that’s similar to darling show.
It’s audio fiction, and I admit I like this particular genre more than the average person.
A narrator shows us life in inner-city Melbourne through her own first-person perspective. She is charming and incisive and eminently likeable. It’s beautifully written and contains a bigger story inside the mundanity of her daily life. It’s really fun and cool. Big recommend.
