Beautiful day today at Five Rivers.
Blasphemy is showing disrespect towards a deity or other sacred object. (Saying "God sucks" would be considered blasphemy.)
Heresy is having a religious opinion or belief that goes against the common doctrine of your religion. (Saying "I think my neighbor Joshua is the second coming of Christ" would generally be considered heresy.)
You can be blasphemous without being heretical (e.g. "God sucks but the Bible is right"), heretical without being blasphemous (e.g. "my neighbor Josh, whom I love and respect, is the messiah"), or both (e.g. "my jerkface neighbor, whom I intend to fight behind Denny's, is secretly God").
ok a couple big takeaways from this. one, i think comparing The Weekend to the trinity might not be heresy OR blasphemy, therefore rendering that post purely educational.
second, i absolutely love the the idea that while it is obviously a sin to go around claiming your neighbor is the second coming of christ it’s TWO sins if you resent him for it
Hey, in your new 'Vestige Ejection' AU, do you think that Midoriya might seriously contemplate getting shot as a way to 'resurrect' the OfA vestiges, so to speak? With a temporary bullet, perhaps?
...
... what would real world Flame Might even look like?
Flame Might would look like Flame Might, I think, but like on 50% transparency... If he could even manifest. I mean technically he's kind like, the lack of a quirk, right? Wait. What if instead of a flame, he was like, all dark. The absence of light, the absence of a phantom. You can still see him, sorta touch him, but he's not like the other quirk phantoms. Not even like the other weird OfA quirk phantoms
Where was the original transmigration idea? You keep mentioning someone named Ham, but I don't know who that is... I would like to say thank you to them, if they're reading this. :D
I keep having thoughts about it, though. Especially about what the 'original' Plus Ultra was like. Like... I feel like Izuku might have been drawn to the original Plus Ultra if it had themes about how even lives cut short, tragedies, and failures can have meaning. Especially if he's had this terminal illness all his life. Maybe his favorite characters would be All Might and First (If First even was in Plus Ultra, seeing as OfA wasn't confirmed canon. Maybe he was in a flashback?) because of that, too. They're both heroes fighting and doing good despite being disabled or being sick. Stuff like that.
Oh Ham is hey-hamlet, the op of the first post here. He's really great, you should
But yeah, I really think it would work... Beyond even the ironic humor of PU!Ninth being sick and dying for it, All Might himself has those elements, and maybe before the end AfO gets a mini arc walking down memory lane and thinking about his brother and doing like no character development himself.
Thinking about that transmigrator thingumy. Thinking that it'd be funny if PU!Bakugo was one of Izuku's favorite characters, but he rapidly realizes that without the character development from Izuku's death, he's a total ***hole.
Izuku, during the battle trial: wow I almost do want to die again just so I know he'd stop being like this
Izuku, cracking his knuckles: but not nearly as much as I want to beat him into being better anyway
