"I Need a Hero" alt route;
In Episode 4's second dispatch shift (immediately after you add Waterboy or Phenomaman), there's a mission where you're asked to send a Hero to a televised Superhero dating competition - possibly in the vibe of The Dating Game.
From the game, Mal mentions the other contestants by civilian names; making the set-up likely a single or set number of Hero contestants trying to catch the attention of a group of potential civilian love interests.
Malevola: Yeah I can't believe Sweetalker went with Emily last season. Him and Carla seemed perfect for each other.
Mal has a Perfect condition from her knowledge of the show (apparently she loves trashy tv), but so does Flambae. Robert asks him to show off his cooking skills, and Flambae makes a Banana Foster - a dessert dish you set alight to caramelise the sauce. An interesting spin on his personal life and powers.
But me and the siblings had a thought; the game show host would not be prepared for a gay man. Many of dating shows are hetero, even if they have same sex options - they'd be a little blindsided.
So cue a new scenario popping up for Robert:
Natalie (INAH_TV): "Hi, this is Natalie. We honestly don't have enough male contestants for your hero. Can you send someone to fill the slot?" Requirements: Send a male hero in a civilian disguise.
Possible Options:
Send Sonar: Sonar: "I tend to stick out in a crowd, Bobby." Robert: "Just show up as yourself. You don't need to win." Sonar, defensive: "Oh I'm gonna win. Don't you try to stop me."
Send Golem: Golem: "Sure. Might click."
Send Punch Up: Punch Up: "Ha! Why the feck not? We can get drinks afterwards."
Send Waterboy: Waterboy: "Wha- What!? A da-date wi-with HIM!?" Robert: "It's just television, Waterboy. You don't actually have to go on a date with him." Waterboy, disappointed/relieved: "O-oh... okay."
Send Phenomaman: Phenomaman: "Is this how humans choose their mates?" Robert: "Sometimes. Don't get too beat up if he doesn't pick you." Phenomaman: "I can assure you, the flaming man cannot harm me physically."
Send Royd: Royd: "I Need a Hero? Ha! Sounds fun! I'm game!"
Send Yourself: Robert: "I am going to regret this..."
Most of the Z-Team options are platonic.
Sonar 100% is more excited about "winning" than going on a date with (a mortified) Flambae, but he still goes for it. (Sonar: "I'm taking you to the fanciest hibachi place in town.")
Waterboy shows up to the competition in a powder-blue prom suit, corsage and all. His grandma helped him with his hair. He might just pull this off though...
Phenomaman is in the most ridiculous "disguise" ever - the whole audience can tell that "Kat" is the hero who just got broken up with. It makes for juicy televison - especially if Flambae picks him!
Phenomaman: "I assume we mate now?" Flambae, walking off-screen with him: "Buy me drinks first, big guy."
If you send Royd, Flambae happily goes home with him! ("Are you kidding me?! You see those biceps!?")
The last option sends you straight (lol) to the action as a contestant. Depending on the way Robert answers questions and asks them back, this could open up a Romance Route with Flambae. Although I'd imagine the firehero would be initially mortified to find out he's clicked with "boring Bitchbert". The moment the curtain pulls back and reveals who his romantic choice really is becomes a meme on social media; Flambae having a full face-journey as he mouths off-screen "I work with him!" before awkwardly taking Robert's hand off-stage.
