The goal rewards from the pocky-o-meter
"I Need a Hero" alt route;
In Episode 4's second dispatch shift (immediately after you add Waterboy or Phenomaman), there's a mission where you're asked to send a Hero to a televised Superhero dating competition - possibly in the vibe of The Dating Game.
From the game, Mal mentions the other contestants by civilian names; making the set-up likely a single or set number of Hero contestants trying to catch the attention of a group of potential civilian love interests.
Malevola: Yeah I can't believe Sweetalker went with Emily last season. Him and Carla seemed perfect for each other.
Mal has a Perfect condition from her knowledge of the show (apparently she loves trashy tv), but so does Flambae. Robert asks him to show off his cooking skills, and Flambae makes a Banana Foster - a dessert dish you set alight to caramelise the sauce. An interesting spin on his personal life and powers.
But me and the siblings had a thought; the game show host would not be prepared for a gay man. Many of dating shows are hetero, even if they have same sex options - they'd be a little blindsided.
So cue a new scenario popping up for Robert:
Natalie (INAH_TV): "Hi, this is Natalie. We honestly don't have enough male contestants for your hero. Can you send someone to fill the slot?" Requirements: Send a male hero in a civilian disguise.
Possible Options:
Send Sonar: Sonar: "I tend to stick out in a crowd, Bobby." Robert: "Just show up as yourself. You don't need to win." Sonar, defensive: "Oh I'm gonna win. Don't you try to stop me."
Send Golem: Golem: "Sure. Might click."
Send Punch Up: Punch Up: "Ha! Why the feck not? We can get drinks afterwards."
Send Waterboy: Waterboy: "Wha- What!? A da-date wi-with HIM!?" Robert: "It's just television, Waterboy. You don't actually have to go on a date with him." Waterboy, disappointed/relieved: "O-oh... okay."
Send Phenomaman: Phenomaman: "Is this how humans choose their mates?" Robert: "Sometimes. Don't get too beat up if he doesn't pick you." Phenomaman: "I can assure you, the flaming man cannot harm me physically."
Send Royd: Royd: "I Need a Hero? Ha! Sounds fun! I'm game!"
Send Yourself: Robert: "I am going to regret this..."
Most of the Z-Team options are platonic.
Sonar 100% is more excited about "winning" than going on a date with (a mortified) Flambae, but he still goes for it. (Sonar: "I'm taking you to the fanciest hibachi place in town.")
Waterboy shows up to the competition in a powder-blue prom suit, corsage and all. His grandma helped him with his hair. He might just pull this off though...
Phenomaman is in the most ridiculous "disguise" ever - the whole audience can tell that "Kat" is the hero who just got broken up with. It makes for juicy televison - especially if Flambae picks him!
Phenomaman: "I assume we mate now?" Flambae, walking off-screen with him: "Buy me drinks first, big guy."
If you send Royd, Flambae happily goes home with him! ("Are you kidding me?! You see those biceps!?")
The last option sends you straight (lol) to the action as a contestant. Depending on the way Robert answers questions and asks them back, this could open up a Romance Route with Flambae. Although I'd imagine the firehero would be initially mortified to find out he's clicked with "boring Bitchbert". The moment the curtain pulls back and reveals who his romantic choice really is becomes a meme on social media; Flambae having a full face-journey as he mouths off-screen "I work with him!" before awkwardly taking Robert's hand off-stage.
Cowards! All of you! Pregnant Robert this, pregnant Waterboy that.
But no pregnant Flambae?!?!
Complete cowards! Like can you imagine (ABO verse or Trans) Flambae who was told all his life that due to his powers (higher core temperature) he'll never get pregnant. So Flambae just decides to live his life without worry of getting pregnant. He's tried finding a man who would love him in spite of technically being infertile, which only ends in him getting his heart broken that helps add fuel to the flame on him villain path. Of course then he not only becomes a hero but he's also getting older and he's just waiting until (periods or heats) stop.
And then one day he suddenly gets horrible back pains but just thinks he is getting old, recently its seems he was going through a type of menopause (I know he's only 36 but Flambae is dramatic) with the few (periods or heats) he's had in the year. Flambae shrugs it off and just goes to work, the pain persisting the whole time. It isn't until at around seven hours when the pain becomes so unbearable, Prism has to take him to the SDN hospital.
He's taken in and seen, his body core increasing when suddenly he feels a wetness down his legs. Before Flambae can understand what it was, he's rushed to a fireproof room with nurses and doctors in fireproof suits. He's then told he's actively giving birth which of course freaks him out. Impossible! He was told by specialists that his powers wouldn't allow an egg to survive.
Of course he can't continue to deny anything as he's actively pushing and he's just scared, scared if this baby would even be born alive or if this baby would come out of him burnt, screaming in pain. How could he be so stupid? But he didn't know. He didn't have any symptoms, no weight gain, and felt no sign of life moving in him.
Finally Flambae collapses as he delivers the baby and a cry erupts. Tears stream down Flambae's face, scared to see a baby with melted burning skin the nurse announces "A healthy baby boy!" The baby, his baby is placed on his chest and Flambae's heart skips and his baby stops crying.
There in front of him is the most beautiful baby he's ever seen the baby. Tears spring in his eyes as he he is greeted with skin paler than his own, no signs of burnt flesh. The hair on top is a small patch of brown hair rather than his own black hair. Chad marvels at the Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes, his little Mojezeh. His son grunts as he burrows his tiny head into Chad's chest, trying to return to the warmth he's always known. Another surprise is that Chad is lactating as his son goes to town on his chest, which is how the Z-team finds him. Shock faces greet him, especially on two people's faces, Prism who knows his 'infertility' history and the father of his child.
Phenomabae mini comic WIP (suggestive under cut)
flambae opining on the danger and passion of flight to phenomaman was so beautifully put, i think flambae would be surprisingly good at teaching phenomaman about the nuances of living in a human society ❤️🔥👽✨️
If Robert, Chad, and Herman are Earth, Fire, and Water, who do we get to round it out?
Mandy?
Phenomaman
We don't know what he's packing - though I personally enjoy birdy/archosaur alien traits.
He's much more of a "pretty flying bird" kind of draconic creature.
He also loves his odd scaly mates <3
I just sketched out three pages of Phenomaman and Flambae going at it nasty style. I’m going to need to draw a fourth (technically first) page for set up/context.
I forgot I still have that Phenomabae comic WIP.
