Do People Hate the Story Mode for Guilty Gear Strive just because its Mostly about Sol/Frederick being in the White House with President Vernon??
Hopefully I don't sound derisive, but did Sol's headband have any real functionality in keeping his Gear cells in his body repressed by the time of Xrd? It may be just me, but Sol makes it sound as though he was keeping his physical form (and human mind) intact with nothing but sheer will power at that stage. Especially when his Dragon Install makes him look completely monstrous as opposed to before.
It's not like Sol can't maintain his human form without it, it's just a lot harder to do when he has to use his powers.
That, and the Flame of Corruption Seed was encroaching his body, which even Dr. Faust began to notice and warned Sol about.
Sol was going to "ignore it", but Asuka insisted on taking the Seed out of his neck for his own safety.
If Sol had continued to let the Dragon Install affect him, he would have grown in to a massive Anti-Matter Gear (which is what I-No warned him about in Xrd Sign's story when Sol asks "what is that giant thing?").
The "giant thing" was Sol himself... who had grown in to a massive size and was wandering around the ruins of Babylon in 2192.
But it was Axl Low (and I-No)'s efforts combined that averted that future timeline. Asuka helped as well.
Then why in goddramon's name are you guys still alive then? Didn't aria killed you two and then you guys willed yourselves alive?! ರ_ರ
(Easily one of the most funniest translation mistakes I've ever seen... What 'That man' actually said to sol that they both actually killed aria! Goes to show how memey this mistranslation is...¯\(◉‿◉)/¯)
In theory, what will Sol Badguy become once he accepts the Seed and his Gear Side 100%?
He becomes Sol Niceguy.
Sol Badguy from the new Guilty Gear. I like the design, but don't like it at the same time (weird, I know). It's like he has fluff, but not the fluff I know and love. Like he's missing some Sol flair. Whatever...he is Sol. 😅
Will give him the Warm Gray Copic marker treatment later.
What are your thoughts on the theory that Frederick could still have access to Dragon Install because of his connection with the Flame of Corruption? Since it's been a part of his Gear core for centuries and his cells are technically byproducts of the Divine Seed, some believe that he is still linked to it, even with it removed from his body. Do you think that this theory has any credibility?
It's difficult to say for certain…
As far as can be determined, Frederick's entire body was reconstructed in the "aftermath" of his initial "death".
Yes, technically Frederick died from getting shot in the neck.
But, he woke up in a pool of his OWN BLOOD not long after.
The bullet that entered his neck contained a cocktail not only of the Flame of Corruption "divine seed", but also a genetic "remapping code" that basically converted his entire BODY in to GEAR CELLS.
So even if the Flame seed was removed from his neck… his body is still 100% that of a GEAR.
On the outside he definitely LOOKS human, and his hair even got shorter to normal length (though that could also have been a temporary side effect… Ky, Sin, and Dizzy still have issues where their hair regrows at fast rates).
What makes the Flame of Corruption Seed what it is seems to be related to the key functions of the Backyard itself.
As per the analogy, the Flame is "Adam" and the Scales is "Eve"… bodies of information that somehow governed the Backyard's data on a large scale.
Just as the Absolute World is an "overlap" of the physical world and the data that comprises the Backyard… you could argue that such an "overlap" existed within Sol's body.
Just as demons and ghosts exist outside of human Logic, Sol's existence was a supernatural one on a basic level.
If left unchecked, the Dragon Install would have encroached Sol's body… distorting his body's data and creating something far beyond his body's ability to contain (even for Gear Cells, which were designed to contain that power in the first place).
Perhaps, right now, none of that absurd amounts of illogical information exists within Frederick's body at the moment… but it is true that it shaped and influenced that body on a physical level… if not a metaphysical level.
Hypothetically, if Frederick were to try to re-enter the Backyard in his current state… or even get influenced by an Information Flare… something "could" happen to him… but it's hard to predict what could happen.
To clarify though, just as Information Flares are an excess amount of Magic Information in real space… the Dragon Install is just like other complex "spells" that exist in the world… above all else, it tapped in to the energy of the Gear Cell Core and Divine Seed itself.
Just as other everyday spells can influence the physical body (like healing spells or elemental spells), so too can enhancement spells like Dragon Install exist.
Perhaps not on the same level as before, but Frederick's body can still tap in to the energy potential of the Gear Cells that currently comprise it.
Even if the Magic Energy isn't as big as a Galaxy Cluster (like the case of Justice)… it is still Magic Energy, and is capable of a great many things.
How did Sol felt when he used Dragon install for the first time? Did it hurt him?
The first time he used it was during Guilty Gear Begin's events against a giant Gear Grizzly Bear who had regenerative abilities comparable to his own.
Prior to this he had very "hot / painful" sensations in his neck (where Asuka had lodged a bullet containing the Flame of Corruption Seed) whenever his powers felt especially strong whilst fighting Gears.
There was even a point when he passed out from blood loss, only to wake up fully regenerated (during his fight with some Gear Owls).
He was concerned about losing his humanity and giving in to destructive urges all the while, while trying to find a way to escape the facility he was in.
But, a certain incident pushed him over the edge when he was fighting the Bear.
The phrase "Dragon Install" simply appeared in his mind.
Part of his body became semi-engulfed in flame.
Prior to this he had been evenly fighting the Bear, but now he had the strength to overpower and eventually killed the beast with his own bare hands.
(It is actually here, where Asuka confirms that Frederick cannot die by normal means…)
Shortly thereafter he continued his pursuit of Asuka, only to be betrayed and abandoned.
After escaping the ruins of the facility (after it was destroyed)… he left before authorities could question him.
His physical appearance changed a great deal and he was forced to go in to hiding afterwards, and build his Gear Cell Suppression device.
As a Gear, he had to fight his destructive urges and instincts whenever he fought other Gears or had to deal with "Noise Dissonance" sensed from certain types of Command Type Gears.
But no matter how much pain or fatigue he experienced, he would always regenerate.
Dragon Install would bring out the very utmost of his powers, which always left him very drained, disoriented, and tired afterwards.
Still, if he had kept using Dragon Install, it would have encroached his body and transformed him in to a Giant Anti-Matter Gear (because of the accumulating Magic Energy gathered by the Divine Seed in his neck).
Part of the result of his struggles caused his personality to become much rougher than it initially was (he originally had a somewhat cowardly personality, but that changed a great deal when he had to struggle to survive fighting other Gears over the years).
Question about the end of the chase scene, when Happy Chaos shot Sol and said; "What keeps you alive I wonder?", was he rhetorically speaking/asking or actually asking Sol that question directly? I figured he should somewhat know that the Flame of Corruption Seed is what makes Sol nigh-impossible to kill or injure permanently.
It was rhetorical in the sense that Chaos already knew that the material that created Nagoriyuki's sword could temporarily slow down Sol's ability to regenerate.
He just simply synthesized bullets from the sword for that purpose beforehand.
But since Chaos was the one that created the "Flame of Corruption" (Divine Seed), it would make sense that he had some idea of how that power works.
Though he technically wasn't the one who invented Gear Cells (that was Asuka's doing).
In all liklihood, Chaos' research in to Demihumans (Youkai) is part of what led him to that conclusion about Sol.
Any being that was influenced by the Backyard probably has the same (or similar) weakness as Sol does… though the precise means through which Nagoriyuki's sword was forged is still a mystery.
