How to make flame in Photoshop
Hey, how are you? Today we’re going to learn how to make our own flame in Photoshop. So let’s go into it.
First, create a new file and then create a new layer. Chose the Pen Tool (P), make sure it’s on Path mode (it won’t work if it’s on Form mode). Now, design your path the way you want; I did an S shape.
If you don’t know how to use the Pen Tool, I have a whole tutorial just for it, click on the banner below to read it!
Now, go to Filter > Render > Flame.
It’ll open this window:
There are six types of flames you can choose from:
One flame along path
Multiple flames along path
Multiple flames one direction
Multiple flames path directed
Multiple flames various angles
Candle light
Choose the one you like/fit the most for your project and then you can play with the adjustments (some won’t be able to adjust depending on the type of flame).
You can also change the color of the flame. To do so, check the “Use custom color for flames” box and click on the color to open the color picker.
By default, the window will open on the Basic tab. But there are more adjustments on the Advanced tab.
Here’s two ‘before and after’ using this tutorial:
