The Flash 3x21 – Cause and Effect

How did the team treat Time Remnant Barry in the season 2 finale like a real Barry who killed himself, and they valued his sacrifice accordingly, but then they supposedly shun this new one because he “wasn’t real”? They’ve never treated TRs as “not real versions” of [insert guy] before, see: Barry still holding a grudge against Eobard’s TR. 

This doesn’t line up with 2024. Cisco from 2024 was happy to have ANY version of Barry back, past or whatever, even if it wasn’t “his” Barry. He would’ve wanted the remnant around. Joe lost everyone including Wally. He would’ve wanted a Barry that still cared for his family and was just as real as the guy who didn’t. Wally was paraplegic and in a coma. He couldn’t shun the remnant; he wasn’t talking to anybody.

None of them would have the capacity to treat the Time Remnant as “not real”, except Emo Barry. Barry treats Time Remnants as expendable. He did it in season 2. He was the first one mentioned as having treated the remnant as “not real” and he disbanded the team because they reminded him of what he lost and he didn’t mention what happened to the time remnant that survived Savitar except “well, Savitar killed mostly everybody”.

Funny thing about that is… it’s yet another one of Barry’s fuckups thanks to Flashpoint being created.

Barry predictably avoids answering that question. Still keeping secrets, eh motherfucker?

Also, remember when Barry kicked Wally out claiming that Savitar was using him to spy on the team? NOPE. Savitar spied through Barry himself. Clearly the sensible thing to do here is kick Barry the fuck out of the team.

Shut up, Iris. Savitar is still a monster. He’s not less of one just because he looks like the guy you love. That actually makes it worse.

Barry is legit admitting he has what it takes to become Savitar and that his mindset is the same, JFC why are these idiots writing Iris like she’s okay with the fact that her man is capable of this shit?

The fact that Bart is low-key noticing that Wally being both his brother AND Iris’s brother, not just Bart’s “brother in law”, makes Iris his sister too, is like… you idiots cannot say this isn’t incest. Even he notices that.

This episode is proving that Barry needs to be a different person in order for the relationship to work and not be exceedingly creepy. Bart x Iris is wholesome and cute.

This all just proves Barry being out of the picture takes Savitar out too. JFC.

Iris had to choose between life and death by giving Barry back his memories. Damn. Bye Bart. Also, the writers still don’t understand how gross it is to have “love” blossom the exact moment that someone is heavily emotionally vulnerable and traumatized, and also the implication that Iris couldn’t have comforted Barry out of a sense of friendship. It’s like they don’t get that friends can do nice things for each other. They must live miserable and empty lives, then.
